METAL COVER - Living Mice - Minecraft

It's been a little bit since our last cover, so to celebrate the 1.16 Nether update, here's our favorite track from Minecraft with a nice bit of metal edge to it, featuring some fantastic art from our own Dylan, and gameplay from some prominent KZbinrs.
C418 is a killer composer, and the atmospheric feel to this soundtrack has done wonders to shape Minecraft into the phenomenon that it is today.

I get why this song doesn't get that much attention, every track In Minecraft is such an achievement in gaming music in my opinion. This is a very respectable favorite of the bunch to have tho and you did it such justice :)

This sounds interesting. Minecraft songs are always hard to make metal covers out of since they're all so slow and atmospheric, but we like a good challenge.

MOSH BITS yes, know, I was trying to learn to play them in piano, and it’s hard(a least for me), so if in piano is difficult I can’t imagine how difficult it will be to play them in other instruments(English is not my native language si of you see something that doesn’t make sense at all let me know please so I can avoid it the future)

Your English is good! Piano is a difficult instrument, but keep at it and you'll be able to nail it down in no time.

MOSH BITS thank you. I’m currently working in a song of my own, it’s for a game I’m making, a horror game. Could you give some suggestions to make a song that is sad and terrifying at the same time?

While I'm not the best at composing original tracks; lots of minor chord progressions and a down tempo feel will be your friend here. Personally to get this feel, I'd go with very sparse drums/percussion. And with a lot of "scary" music, composers will aim to create tension, which is usually done by using chords that the listener wouldn't expect. So instead of going to a chord that sounds "right" to your ears, try changing it up and go somewhere that doesn't quite feel "right" to increase that tension. There are a lot of different ways to go about this though, and the best thing to do is experiment!
