Any find on such an old property is a great find. I don't care if it's an old buckle or or not. That's something special.

Once again, real nice finds. The mine tags are fantastic relics. I don't see many relics out here in the wild west. The larger numbers of people just haven't lived here for very many years, but I tend to find eating utensils more than other things.
@HistoryUnearthed6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Krawdad's ! I got out today. The latest video I posted was filmed at a dairy farm a few mile's from where I live. There use to be a school house there in the 1800's. Just a farm field now. Found a nice medallion. Anyways today I got permission at the owners home. Built in 1858! I'll be posting another video tonight or tomorrow and you'll get to see how I did. Thanks for checking in and I hope you stay tuned!

I found in a north east michigan library a map of old lumber camps, it took some research but i approximated where it was by finding an old narrow gauge railroad they used to haul out the logs on horse drawn flatbeds, at first i found the rr spikes but no ties/rail bcuz they would pull everything once they clearcut an area but just leave the spikes. Anyways by finding the bed where the tracks were originally laid was difficult bcuz were talking 1870 or so & nature was overgrown so i looked for straight lines in the geography "somewhat", anyways i found where i believed that camp was and started detecting with my old tesoro md lol. Found a 10' 2 man crosscut saw- severly rusted away, a old double bitted axe head which i donated to the lumber museun & old square Link hand forged chain heavy duty- which is still there bcuz half of it was buried and about 25 railroad spikes lol

Gotta be alot of scanners around here. I live in Ravenna (just south of you) and have been dirt fishing for for about five years now. My town was founded in 1798 and has 137 sites on the National Historic Registry in Washington DC and that's just on Main Street!! I have spent hundreds of hours scanning this town (and the little surrounding townships as well) and never once found a single silver coin and only 3 wheaties! I scan everything from the schools to the parks and even up and down the many brick paved side streets with the super wide curb strips! Every time I go out to West Branch to scan the beach and picnic areas I run into 3 or 4 other people doing the same thing and end up just getting back in my truck. Now don't get me wrong, I have found several small gold items (only one gold ring) and 5 silver rings (about one per year and always small ladies rings) Gotta find some virgin territory somewhere in northeast ohio or I'm about to give it up.

Nice video, just subscribed. I bought the Ace 200 which arrives today. I'm going out to my grandparents property today to hunt. I'm excited because my grandpa was a history buff, he collected old coins, guns, arrowheads/indian beads. He would take us to old indian grounds to hunt for arrowheads when we were little. Anyways if I knew my grandpa like I did, I believe he buried things on the property. I will video the findings, happy hunting!

The thing you call an old locking ring looks like part of a hasp.A rope would go thru that part and some sort of snap clip was attached to it so it could fasten to something.I know they used them for attaching a flag to a rope and running it up the pole.There would be all sorts of applications on a farm how ever

For 150.000 you bought a house? Does it have wheels and a do-hicky, that hooks up to the rear of your pickup truck? 150,000 is cheap for a home.

Your Old Locking Ring is actually the bottom end part of a snap swivel. Chain goes on the part that looks like it could have been a ring, but it isn't. The snapping end is gone.

The thing you thought looked like a ring is really the part that goes on the end of a chain like for a dog. it had a piece that came in with a to the base of that that looked like dumbbell. It allow the dog to twist the chain and it would swivel.

Debbie Mitchell It's a great video..The one thing I dislike is that the house is going to be torn down..By now it's gone..Thats a shame..Old houses like that should be left alone...
@heatmoon5 жыл бұрын
@@michaelt6265 I agree, its disrespecting the history of the house, or thats my opinion. I caught 2 young guys tearing the floor out of my great auntes abandoned house like 10 years ago, looking for buried cans of money. There are so many people that do this type of thing. They break in if its locked, very tricky robbers.

One of the best feelings is hearing a high tone! Always fun. I didn't notice which pinger you use but with mine I have to dig em all! Silver and lead ping the same as well as aluminum and gold! I've never found a silver coin or any gold, but I dug a silver toe ring that was a hard 98. Cutest lil thing! Do you still swing n ping?

@HistoryUnearthed5 жыл бұрын
Some are Thomas. You don't see those coins because we sometimes don't find them. Also activity such as worms or moles burrowing can cause a coin to fall deeper into the earth but coins in hard, rocky soil might only be a couple of inches down. Hope that helps.
