I watched 4 of your videos after buying a Garrett Ace400. I have only had it for a week and have a lot to learn, but my first day was promising. First of all, our house was built in 1995 on a former apple orchard section of an old farm in Upstate New York. We own almost an acre of land and I tried your techniques in my front yard. The very first hole I dug, in the first five minutes, I uncovered a 1967 US Quarter just 6 inches deep. It is in rough shape, but this was very promising. I also found the threaded end of an old garden hose in another hole. (Not as exciting.) Vielen dank für deine Videos!

Hmmm....that might be a pilum tip or some other spear point. It looked like it was four sided and the shafts were soft and would likely have broke off or rusted away. Another thing it may be is some sort of plumb weight tied to a cord used to ensure walls and such were straight from top to bottom. Good hunt...that Roman temple is down under there somewhere! There will be more gold this year as well!

Hi Hans, The object you describe as a harness decoration might be just that. However, it looks very similar to some examples I have seen of Roman cosmetic grinders here in the UK. They come in two parts, and your find could be the pestle or top part which would have been cresent shaped with a suspension loop. Best wishes, Rob

It's always amazing to find the goodies that try to hide among the litter, Hans. The pilum is yet another beauty and ranks right up there with the spear point from #107. Hallo Hans. Es war wie einmal eine Freude dich bei deiner Suche begleiten zu dürfen. and also the range of your finds are again fantastic. Weiterhin happy hunting & Gut Fund. Mario

I think what you thought was a harness decoration the half moon find with the shank could have been a cloth weight for a military war horse from a very early period and would have had an emblem in enamel as to the lord who,s family crest would have been on it .I know that the horse cloth also embroidered would have rows off these weights on either side to weigh it down in place .I may be wrong but it is a thought .

haha. .yes it was! but I have to detect this field as it is the only free patch at the moment. I like it to be forced to care for the less productive and trashy fields from time to time. it's these fields that can possibly bare great finds! thank you for watching richard! all the best, GL&HH! hans

Hans. Can you do a brief video on the tools you use and some suggestions for good metal detectors under 300, 200, 100 euros?
@TerraGermaniaTG8 жыл бұрын
I can imagine doing that. . but until i made this video you can ask me questions as well :) I can't recommend metal detectors under 300€ . . take a look at the xp adx 150. . it's a simple machine with high performance. . I know that even some pros are using this detector! thank you for watching!
