The soil is so dry which means less corrosion, snake buckle is astounding. Silver cigarette case 925. Round up was incredible again the condition especially the silver coins and dog tags ❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

I'm usually waching gold hunting from WA ( I'm from Victoria) but it's really refreshing to wach someone saving history from the ground and what a fantastic finds mate. I'm still dreaming of finding snake buckle and I didn't even know about cart and dog tags. Can you explain to me why did they have to have those tags. Once again great video , new subscriber, and keep them coming. I know it's hard to detect and film at the same time but couple live digs would be nice. Cheers 🍻
@outbushdetectingАй бұрын
The tags were a form of registration by the local councils to stop feral animals roaming the towns. The cart plates are an early precursor to motor vehicle registration plates.both are highly collectible here in West Australia. I will be working on more live digs for sure, but when you look at how many targets I have to dig it is difficult.

Nice job John, what do you do to clean those silver coins, they came up amazing, I usually like patina, but silver coins do come up a treat.

Cleaned using a clr soak and a rub with bicarb and water paste, gets the environmental damage off!!!

@@outbushdetecting cheers, I have a half crown from 1896 I’d like to clean up, I’ll practice on a shilling first I think.

@@jeffholmes1362 CLR wont hurt the coins, it helps loosen crud, use neat.

Hi Rob, some I tumble with a jewellers mix, like the fine items. Others use a combination of a dip in CLR then scrub with a fine steel wool soap pad until get the patina I need.
