Hi Andrew and Viv, so glad you guys had a great time at Detectival, some nice little finds but for me the lead button stole the show, cracking little find especially with the shanks still on it, romans and a Lizzy hammered not to mention your silver thimble, love digging the low numbers, the whiteness of lead has nothing to do with age, it means it's very pure, and romans did make very pure lead, if the lead was impure it would still be grey in colour. The shovel came like that mate. Has been doing a great job. I’ve been digging holes where others say they can’t and been heavily levering with it, and it’s a two piece, and there is no issue. Great thing it is😁. The blue velvet is actually a snood that is nearly the right colour and we are still here in the UK. If hornets are like European wasps I know what you went through. I ended up here because I was watching another Detectival 2024 video. I was there and I recognise you! I am British, but now live in Canada, a place with only relatively modern history for metal detectorists. Your Manticore did you will, a Hammered coin still eludes me but I did find 3 Roman Coins with my Nokta Legend in the big Roman field where you started. The thing that at first looked like a bronze spear tip is, I reckon, part of an old pewter rat tail spoon. Great video quality, superb filming by Viv and good editing. I subscribed!
