Cool build Mr. Cortina. I love seeing a that contractor with OCD can still make a living. It's tough to make profit when everything has to be perfect. You have obviously got a well groomed team working for you. You are a very unordinary business man in the construction business.

I like that you weld the truss to the beam. suggestion, cut the truss half depth and weld to beam with half welded to beam face and half welded to beam top creating a saddle fit making it stronger for lateral, horizontal, force. Plate top of beam for welding half truss to.
@ronthurmond62665 жыл бұрын
I am interested in your support system. Can you show the plate that is embedded into the concrete to where you weld the post? On your pipe post do you use A53 or A106?

Another awesome video! That was a great safety lesson about NOT walking over anything that is covering up a potentially hazardous situation. One question: are your steel buildings designed by structural engineers? I know a lot of steel building companies sell their buildings either engineered or not, but charge more for the engineered versions. Already looking forward to your next video!! Good job Daniel!!
@TexasBarndominiums5 жыл бұрын
Ours aren’t because they are custom built, so we would have to engineer every single one. It would get costly. So we just over build them instead. 😁

Hello and greetings. I would like to thank you for recording such videos, which help people like me a lot. I have a request from you. My request is that you help me to build the halls I want. My hall has an opening of 30 meters, but without the middle column at a height of 6 meters. I want to know with what size H beam I can build these halls. I will build it. Of course, if the opening is 30 meters, it will answer. If it doesn't answer, I can make the opening of the shed up to 23 meters. I am waiting for your correct answer. I thank you again for your help. I wish you a good day

@dutchslayer70564 жыл бұрын
Hello. I have been watching alot of your Barndominium videos and want to thank you so much for all the good information you share! We live in South Carolina and are wanting to build a Barndo next year. I have noticed on some of your builds the outside metal sheeting is on already prior to any framing inside and then you mention to foam this (on the inside of course). On other videos I see you using the Zip sheating system on the outside then foaming inside. Is it customer preference that drives this? We just want to do the right thing when we build! BTW, do you build in SC? :)
@TexasBarndominiums4 жыл бұрын
We use zip wall if we will have conventional siding outside. If metal, then we attach to wall girts.

I like the cardboard theory, I work in construction building 4 story building. I know the cardboard thing is common sense, but at the same time it also isnt and being on the job we can become lazy and like you said, younjust never know what's being protected or cover under any cardboard, sheat of wood or tarps.

My husband and I are currently binge watching your videos. We have two questions: 1) what camera are you using? It has some awesome high def resolution! 2) why do you use round pipe instead of square? Just curious why.
@TexasBarndominiums5 жыл бұрын
Sony A7RIII and Sony A7III. This one was shot with A7III We believe round make home stronger because we cope purlin around the pipe. It probably doesn’t matter though. We may use square tubing in the future. Not sure at this point.
@Garth20115 жыл бұрын
@@TexasBarndominiums Likely round vs. square might be a visual item depending on the look a building will present. If there's not that much engineering difference, then the material could boil down to how it's going to match up with the rest of the architecture, maybe.

Not to be a "Negative Nancy", but there isn't a single person in this video wearing the proper PPE. No one tied off in the lifts, no one wearing hard hats or high visibility vests/shirts. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy seeing the cool designs and amazing attention to detail, but is PPE not a requirement? Again love your Barndos!
@jcnash025 жыл бұрын
shaverjv1105 tying off in a lift is stupid, high vis is unnecessary on this size site. Hard hats are good and necessary, as is eye and ear protection. To be fair, the welding hood is eye protection, and no one is doing enough grinding or cutting to be over the length of exposure to cause damage.
