Metal Gear Rising-Fan Animation

Since I am a huge fan of 'Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance' I would like to create something cool with these attractive characters!
There are plenty of stuff I'd like to improve in this cinematic but it's beyond my ability to be honest.
I am pretty happy to finish this work and hope you enjoy this fan animation!!
**Since some people asked these, I'd like let them know here**
I used 3ds max for animations and camera animation
I used unreal engine 5 for background, lightings, effects,sfx etc..
It took around 4 months from the scratch
I couldn't find proper character models so I replaced enemies to skulls

This animation is insanely good, it is on par with the very game itself, there is room for inprovemend, but the thought that you made this by yourself is insane. Clearly you have a lot of passion put into this and I hope that this will blow up soon, because this is too good to go unnoticed. This was jawdropping for me so thank you for this amazing video.

To be fair, there is plenty of room for improvement. Some walking animation is a bit too stiff, like in one moment Sam's legs are more like doll's than human's. And there are some details that could be added, like sparks that fly out when two high frequency blades hit each other. But, rephrasing one of the characters from Metal Gear... _"...that was some fancy animating. You're pretty good."_

@@projectvikingdevdiary36 gonna add to that. A lot of the different slashes and stabs seem to kind of just clip through things instead of actually being stabbed into it. Same when the sword gets pulled out. I know the HF blade can easily cut through most materials, but still, it looks wonky. 1:23 especially here, feels like the sheath isn’t even there. 1:34 I don’t think sam is even remotely close to being able to do that.

@@dompan9169 Sam... Literally landed on a APC lifting it off the ground, in the beginning of the game and sent the gunner into the air, slashing him in half. Pretty sure hes that strong, In the game when you fight him he can quite literally send Raiden flying. His sword arm is also a high grade cybernetic from Armstrong. So... It's pretty accurate if ya ask me.

@@epicKerBallze Honestly even if you did, MGR mods are very primitive right now. Hell, even the mod that patches the game's resolution, which you'd think would be the most stable one considering literally all it does is change the resolution, is half-broken, doesn't allow custom aspect ratios, and makes the analog-stick QTE's impossible. A whole custom boss is most likely impossible at the moment.

I've never seen anything like this, seriously. 3D animation getting recommended to me is interesting, and Im glad I clicked. The movement and effects are pretty good while its nothing too flashy, nice and simple. I can tell you have a lot of potential and room to improve to become better, you're going places bud, I have high hopes for you.

Other than the still faces and stock sound effects you've done amazing with the killer choreography, slo mos, animation and the mannerisms present. especially when Sam is perched on a light pole, that's totally something Sam would do and I especially liked how you subtly made sure nothing looked stiff like how with Sam's foot was swaying in the air. To Raiden dodging, weaving and attacking, you've got quite a bright future man keep it up!

2:16 My goodness, you actually made a fantastic detail! People don’t realize how easy it is to end a static blade clash, but you actually know your swordplay! Honestly, scenes like that are way cooler than static blade clashes, makes them more dynamic and fast-paced.

I've watched this like 20 times now and I have no signs of stopping. That was awesome. The parkour in the beginning, the fight scenes, Sam casually sitting on the lamp post (I feel like I love that way too much) and the showdown at the end. It legit felt like MGR all the way through. It's so fluid too. I know some people might not like that there's no voice acting, but I honestly prefer no voice acting over voice acting that doesn't fit, so no worries there. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work put into that.

What the absolute living crap? I was just watching animations here and there, and saw this on my recommended, so I wanted to give it a try. This? This is a work of art, my friend. You captured the essence of MGR, especially the part Raiden slaughters the hell out of the Cyborgs; a calling reference to the opening cutscene where Sam introduces himself. Heck, if this was part of the game (or if there's a sequel plz), I wouldn't even complain! Of course, I have some critiques here and there, but you making these alone? Bravo, my friend, crazy shiet! There's so much potential for improvement and I hope you are able to harness that potential! Keep up the good work, and hopefully you'll improve more!

The animation was great and how the characters fought also fit to them a lot and generally I loved everything about it! Fantastic work! The lighting is beautiful and there are some incredible shots here, the sound design is solid, all in all just *mwah* If I were to nitpick one thing, be careful of floatiness. It's really easy to animate with the position of the torso in mind then work out from there, but this can lead to a weightless, almost Marionette like effect in each movement. Keep in mind the weight and force of each action. Remember, in a jump, he would be at his fastest as he's pushing himself from a surface. Emphasize the PUSH to establish the weight of each movement.

wow thats just beautiful. I love that you made a dialogue between sam and raiden. It makes it feel like thse are actually characters from MGR and not some random models just fighting in an animation. One thing i would recommend to improve your animations in the future though is to make the "thrown" animatiosn like when raiden got knocked away from sam more fluid. It felt like something was pulling him to the direction he was going to instead of being shoved towards there. After that the rest are really good!
