Circle is yes button not because it’s an old game it’s because the shape of a circle means yes/ok in Japanese so since it was made by Japanese ppl it was obvious for them and no one thought that it will be confusing for the rest of the world.

To go even further with this, all the symbols on a PS controller were meant to correspond with their use: ie, circle meaning okay (like you said), cross meaning no, square meaning menu, and triangle meaning point of view. But developers had their own ideas, so now we have it where no means yes, and yes means no.

FF7 and MGS back in the PS1 days got me used to thinking of Circle as the "OK" button. It got annoying seeing it switch to the "X" over the years, even in the Japanese games now lol.

And you need to be calling Christmas snake like every 5mins as your missing so much of the game and it's attention to detail. It might not be important but in the cell, holding triangle you can look down to see Magots crawling around on the floor. I just want you to appreciate this game for what it is, the greatest game my 11year old self ever played.

Okay, that was painfully fun to watch rofl I've been a MG fan since it was 2D and loved it all over again when MGS dropped for PS1. I've played through it too many times to count and I've got to tip my hat to Rob for not getting out of the room and taking over the game control. Rob could've told you guys about weapon selection when he was explaining ration use but I guess he wanted a good laugh as well. Looking forward to the next episode... kinda.

Anybody else think that they restarted and changed the difficulty to "Easy" after showing us their choice of "Normal"difficulty? I always play on Normal, and I feel like I'm seeing fewer bad guys during alert phases, and also more ration and ammo drops than usual.

I love MGS, I downloaded it on PS3 and pretty much played nothing else! Are you playing on PS 4? Can we get it on PS4 yet or do I need to get Playstation Now just for this? I think it will be worth it. Actually my PS1 is in the loft somewhere so I'll just have find that instead.

not sure if its on ps4, I think to play it on PS3 you had to have the original one with the backwards compatibility and the disc. Can't remember seeing it on the store, if it was there i'd be on it straight away

Still the only MGS I completed although I played most of them to a degree, including the PSP ones. This one was a fantastic 12 hour thriller on a weekend for me, couldn't put it down. And I still think it's really well designed. The tense atmosphere, the bosses, the exploration to find all gear.
