San Juan Horst There’s only one logical conclusion: Nathan is a liar and hasn’t won any trophies that actually involve having a modicum of gaming skills. I’m honestly not even certain how he’s able to tie his shoes in the morning or how he’s allowed out of the house without wearing his full time safety helmet as he gets on the short bus.

Hagane Elric yea but you can't use the second controller port to stop him from reading your thoughts like you could on ps1 because it's the digital ps3 version and even swapping your controller to controller 2 doesn't work. Ive tried so many times on this copy of the game, so it will be even worse for them.

Yeah, on the PS3 version, you have to go into the settings and change your controller to "controller 2" or something like that. I'm pretty sure they would never figure that out on their own.

For Zeus' sake, they are playing that game for the first time, with old controls and suck exactly as much as we all did... with the difference, that they know thousands of people are watching them play, and that they have to upload their experimental phase of the game too, where they try to figure out how the game's inner logic works... I think a lot of people commenting, have repressed the memory of them being stuck at one part of the game for an hour

I agree. This is one of those games with enigmatic solutions. It is not easy if you have never played it before. That's why there are so many codec conversations built into it. You *will* need the other characters to tell you how to get through any given situation.

I tired this game as well and as a gamer I figured out it on my lonesome, quickly. You have here two people, two minds struggling how to do things and paying near no attention to their environment while funny and entertaining. It’s ridiculous to think this is a normal. Laying on the floor in front of a enemy, an hour or more into the game and thinking that it wouldn’t get them shot at. I’ve beaten this game with those very same controls just three years ago. Inexcusable

Hyerverse did you never get stage fright? Everything is harder, when people are watching. So, yeah, you freeze at times... Even if it is ingame in front of a guard... In later MGS games, staying still would be a better strategy than standing up and running around... They might have counted on the guard to turn around, what do I know, maybe it really was a weak moment... All I'm asking is to cut them some slack. But since the "they suck, lol" comments get hundreds of upvotes, clearly people disagree

Also the point of the video is entertainment, right? You said it yourself, this is entertaining. Do you really want to watch a video of them breezing through the game with Rob never getting an opportunity to insult them? No, you don't because that would be boring.

Stage Fright is reasonable at the beginning of a play through, that wasn't the beginning. This isn't live, only person is watching live is rob. They have already been playing for an hour or more. Later MGS they would have Camo(mgs5) or Active Camo (mgs4) to blend into the environment, nothing was shown to them that would think they had camo or something that made them invisible. They are cut some slack on somethings however in any game you wouldn't expect to lay in front of a enemy thinking you would live. This isn't one mind were dealing with we're dealing with two Experience gamers from the generation where this game was out. They never played a stealth game or watched james bond to have a concept of what stealth is? Even the excuse of the controls being different doesn't make sense. As gamers you learn new controls. And back in the day, Late 90s and 00s. Games had all kinds of controls, it wasn't generalize like to today. Ex. All shooters have the same controls because of Call of duty. Games had different controls. Japanese games had regional controls etc. Its entertaining but its shouldn't be normal to not pick up controls within hour or two. I give you that Dave has been mostly playing, so Nate would be lacking in experience.

Honestly as good as the 'Nathan the Christmas Elf' series! SO funny! If only because of how useless Dave and Nath are at MGS! (Sorry Nath, but it's mainly you mate...). I love MGS as much as Christmas Snake, and its actually physically painful watching this at times. Especially when it comes to the stealth sections and way-finding. Rob pleading, "Please, Please, PLEASE!" and "Get behind there, Get behind there, GET BEHIND THERE!.... Now you've been seen." So funny! And we all know what bit comes next....

i remember the game, played it so much but i hated the segments when you played as that kid, mostly because i was younger and i did'nt really understand the story all that well, can still remember the initial arena segment and the forest where you fight that big dude.

In Nath and Dave's defense, this game has old-fashioned controls and mechanics. Just learning to move with the D-pad instead of the analog sticks must take a lot of getting used to, especially considering that they've played hundreds of games over the last few generations of gaming consoles that more or less have the same basic controls. Their struggle to understand how this game works, coupled with Rob's apoplectic rage, is what makes this let's play so fun to watch :) Besides, Nath's played loads of Bloodborne and Nioh, so his skill as a gamer isn't in question.
