My 50w JCM 900 smokes any and all comers for Judas Priest “unleashed in the east” type tone. Hit the TS9 tube screamer and face melting solo tone awaits. Takes petals like a champ. Just did a tech service and retube so she should be good to go another 20 years.

JMC 900 sounds the best in my opinion. I can still hear it playing in my head while all the other demos are going on LOL! Marshall definitely kicks butt! Keep up the great work Marshall application. Wow they all sound SO good. It's hard to pick one but i found the Marshall sounded fantastic. It just had that extra clarity that made it stand out in the mix. Oh and the music was awesome i can't get enough of it.

The 900 sounded better than I expected. And the Valveking, well, sounds just as good as any other. The marshall would have sounded good with another amp mixed in playing the modern edged tone.

Valveking is crap,i tried it and you can get just a classic iron maiden tone,nothing more

Well that's why it sounds good to me. It would rock for Iced Earth, Maiden, or melodic European power metal. Only amp of the bunch that wasn't dialed in for a cardboard (hollow) sounding midrange. I don't own one, but do have a Bugera 333xl (JSX imitation) so that may explain why I'm partial to the sound.

The Marshall sounded crushing here. I know its not usually regarded as a modern metal amp but this preset sounded the best to me. I planned to listen to the whole thing with my eyes closed but opened them as soon as I heard this, not expecting to see the Marshall.

Marshall rules by far, at least in this video, biggest and loudest sound of them all, and hails to that great old school thrash riff at the start of each amp demo, it's like straight off an 80's thrash album. \m/ \m/ \m/

Engl is the best far for the tightness clarity and air. They breath so well and the presence is balence unlike the others that hiss to much with noise. Except the dizel was a close 2nd

the real winner here has to be the peavey valveking...simply due to the fact that it kept up quite well with all the other amps and you can get a valveking on ebay for under 300 bucks

Just changed Powerball to 6505+ and got way more cutting middle-range tightness. Of course you can dial it like a Moomin and get a scooped out tone but by default 5150 / 6505(+) is much tighter.

JCM did sound great. Marshalls have that warmth that is hard to get. It is something that is lost on a lot of metal players. What good is all that saturation, if there is no substance to it. Now if we could all get our Marshalls to sizzle like that.

u can maxon 808. own a tsl 100 and dsl 40 combo. love the Marshall tone. but they all sound great. valve king was a total shocker though.

Sounds like a balanced sound with all knobs at noon, with gain maxed and boosted with a tubescreamer. I have a 900 and I get a similar sound with these settings.

I just played a VH4 last week and it sounded phenomenal. The week after, I played an ENGL Fireball 100 and it sounded like processed scoop-fizz even with the mids cranked to ten and and the mid boost engaged.

Good demo, but it almost sounds like the same amp was being used, with a graphic equaliser being used in the loop and different settings applied for the mids. I preferred the sound of the Diezel.

Did you use any overdrive booster? By the way Marshall JCM900 did very well considered it is from early 90th and doesn't have such heavy saturated distortion. Talking about the most highest monsters Peavey 6505 sounded the highest gain one but needs a bit more definition in mix like JCM900 did well even thought 6505 has too much mids but for this style is properly. Mesa Boogie, that thing is heavy sound but actually too much bass and not too much definition in mids thats the problem of that amp, sounds great but it lacks of mids, it's dark sound.

I liked the Marshall and Peavey the best. The Marshall cut through more with its mid focused tone and had a great roar to it, the Peavey didn't cut as well but it had really nice, crushing palm mutes and blended nicely with the bass. The Engl was ok but sounded a bit thinner. The Mesa and Diezel sounded really hollow though hollow and didn't sit in the mix as nicely.

Amazingly I can nail all those brand name tones and much more with my Fractal Audio Axe FXll. For high gain I prefer the Freyette Deliverance patch.

I really like the Mesa best, so tight, but I like the Marshall too. I think the 6505 sits somewhere in the middle tone-wise...so I gotta go with that. All amps were good except the VK which shouldn't have been on here...a Mark V or Rockerverb would have been better.

MESA BOOGIE Very organic sound. That's why once you put a little GAIN, the amplifier will hear a good blues for example. Compared to other amplifiers you put a little GAIN amp sounds empty.

i think i like the sound of the marshall the most out of the amp tones you have here, but they all sound sweet as hell man, wish i had some recording equipment and could get tones even close to these haha my blackstar ht metal series isn't a big amp and definitely wouldn't be as huge sounding (it's only the 5 watt anyways, still at home so i don't think i need a 100 watt or anything that big... not yet anyways lol) but these all sound good but the marshall one jumped at me the most
