Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who incorporate Rock and Metal in their music, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉

dreamcatcher is very different from babymetal since they mash a lot of pop genres into their instrumentation. most of their other songs are not this heavy but all their title tracks have some degree of rock/metal instrumentation mashed in with alternating genres. you can pretty much take your pick of any dreamcatcher songs because they have no bad songs and none of their songs sound alike. their most recent release is 'odd eye' which is somewhat of a more pop/edm heavy track.

Also, I would like to clear up some common misconceptions about K-pop! K-Pop is more of an umbrella term for all different types of music. Yes, there are some groups that release more bubblegum-pop-sounding music. But most groups have a more mature sound, RnB, EDM, Rock, Ballad, and Pop (Obviously) are some of the types of music you can find.

Well, Dreamcatcher are the only kpop group to stubbornly stick to their rock and metal influence. There are several rock influenced kpop songs. Dionysus by BTS, Undercover and Favorite Boys by A.C.E, Basquiat by Pentagon, Call Call Call by Seventeen, and Fantasy by Pink Fantasy are a couple. BTS actually had a lot of rap rock songs in their early years. Of course, this does not include the kpop bands who play their own instruments. Kbands also make rock music, although they’d rarely go as hard as Dreamcatcher because hard rock does not sell well in South Korea.

@@BonkAF "Deja Vu" for King's Raid game, "R.O.S.E. Blue" for Gun Girl Cafe game and "Eclipse" for King's Raid anime... In case you wanna check them out. Eclipse has a short about 1 minute tv intro release for now, but the full song should be out sometime this month. Deja Vu, and Piri, are my top tier songs from Dreamcatcher's excellent discography. Highly recommend you listen/watch to both if them.

This metalhead thanks you for reacting to Dreamcatcher, one of the most unique, talented, yet underrated groups in kpop. This along with No More are their 2 pure metal tracks, both Japanese singles. Then they have a bunch of other rock & hard rock tracks with metal elements, as others have mentioned. About 60% of their catalog has rock/metal elements, and the rest make up a wide variety of genres. Hope you'll continue with them... or, at least give No More, Break the Wall, & Piri a try.

I don't follow kpop that much but Dreamcatcher is the group that I stan cuz of rock and metal influence . What I like the most is that they have storylines in their title tracks and fact that you can pick almost any genre of music and find it in Dreamcatcher discography. Their Nightmare series: Chase me (debut song ) Good night Fly High (prequal of the story) You and I What Piri ( end of the nightmare ) Breaking out ( Japanese song witch is probably alternative version of the ending ) Then they have Deja vu ( stand alone song collab with game Kings raid ) Dystopia trilogy ( this storyline have a very good message about cyber bullying ): Scream ( hear no evil ) Boca ( speak no evil ) Odd eye ( See no evil ) Their B sides are also good all of them even ones with no rock or metal influence.

Linkin Park of kpop.. What an honour to be compared with such a legendary band. This group is definitely kpop, but it's not the ordinary one. They're mixing the very kpop genre with rock and metal. I appreciate that you guys said that they're not like Baby Metal cause they're not. They did not play the instrument, but as a kpop group you can't leave the choreography behind. That's what unique about Dreamcatcher, cause no one would ever think they would dance to rock song right? This song is a part of their Japanese releases. If you interested, check their Korean song. You can definitely jam to it. Also, I don't like boy group too but I don't wanna disrespect them cause yeah they worked so hard to be where they are now. So I think they deserve some respect. So, as the other responses tell ya, Dreamcatcher ain't regular KPOP. I don't like KPOP but I love Dreamcatcher. They're not really popular in Korea but have a growing international following. Their title tracks are rock/hip hop/pop fusion. They range from mostly rock instrumentals to mostly EDM. And no, they're not copying Baby Metal. This is the only song that is remotely similar. And it's only remotely similar. And they're not teenagers. They're in their mid 20s and are seasoned pros at this point. KPOP performers train hard, their lives are totally controlled by their agencies. You should check out where they started this group in 2017 with Chase Me and Good Night. Good Night is one of their heavier songs. Or if you have any interest in what they're doing now, listen to Odd Eye and Wind Blows (PLAY COLOR version of Wind Blows). This may not be your thang, but it's a legit thang.

No, this is not what Kpop is like, but it is what Dreamcatcher is like. Kpop elements are strong melodies, catchy hooks and it doesn't make you want to set fire to things. This song is a Japanese release and was written and composed by Japanese metal heads. Koreans don't like rock and especially metal rock so the groups Korean releases are a little less metal, but still solid rock especially their early releases. Their newer songs are a mixture of rock, EDM and hip hop. I'll forgive you your ignorance about Kpop because ignorance can be cured. I recommend their debut song Chase Me if you want to dig deeper. Endless Night brought a lot of metal heads into the fandom and they were all surprised to find they liked Dreamcatcher's other songs as well.

Dream Catcher isn't like BabyMetal but they are fans of babymetal. Kpop is less pop and more popular sounds but koreans don't actually enjoy rock music. Koreans prefer pop songs more, think shawn mendez, they love them some shawn mendez. That being said Dream Catcher is more of a rock fusion group. They fuse rock with several other genres but they are also extremely versatile in their b sides. They kind of brought rock into the mainstream in korea. There is a new korean rock group called Rolling Quartz who I believe are fans of Dreamcatcher and vice versa and exchanged albums. If you like softer alt rock there is also Day6. Also the youngest member in Dreamcatcher, the girl who started the song is 22 and the oldest (purple hair) is 27. There are a lot of rock influenced kpop songs or so I've heard but nobody really sticks to the sound except dreamcatcher because its not popular. You might like One OK Rock too, they are a japanese alt rock band and I personally love Granrodeo. I like this song a lot. I'm a huge Babymetal fan this is the first Dreamcatcher song i've liked. I heard 2 or 3 before this. I don't think there is anything original about it. Babymetal has done all of this before. But that is fine. The more Babymetal the better. The chorus is very different from Babymetal choruses but both are very catchy and pop. BOH is the bassist for Babymetal. Well, he's not part of Babymetal but he's in the Kami Band and he's played 90% of their concerts. They have another bassist in their new Kami Band which is American. He's good too but not BOH. I prefer the lead guitarists in the American band and the drummer is great too. IF you're listening to the studio Babymetal i have no idea who is playing that.

I can give you some bands - Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Unlucky Morpheus, Dollsboxx, Maximum the Hormone, Ningen Isu, Aldious, Coldrain, TRiDENT, HAGANE just to name a few.
