That clean channel is perfect. The gain channel is a perfect British style tone like I have been searching for. Just wish it had a depth knob😭

That’s the Engl I’ve wanted for awhile now. I got the E530 preamp atm and it’s fkn Kvlt as absolute fuck but I’d kinda like an amp head that looks sick n such.

I love Engl (currently own 4) and really like the Artist Edition but IMO, it doesn't have the same low end and cut Engls are known for. It's definitely tight with gobs of gain but it's a little thin/scooped overall. The shape feature helps but really overpowers the resonance. When it comes to aggression and simplicity, it's hard to beat the Fireball. It will cut better in a live mix and it's also cheaper. Just my opinion. I've owned most of them at one time or another.

@@ManfredFechter-kc7iy Right on! Yeah, the Fireball is really aggressive and easy to dial in. If you like to tweak knobs and want a really nasty Engl you may like the Savage even more. I personally never bonded with it. I had the original 120 when it came out and I couldn't jive with the mids. I haven't tried the current versions but the consensus is that they are just as brutal. They're also a lot more expensive than the Fireball. The Blackmore is another option. IMO it's more aggressive than the Artist, though I prefer the smoothness of the Artist and character of the Fireball more. As far as the Thunder 50... I played one way back, it was decent, probably more hard rock than metal. IMO the Screamer 50 is much better. I own the Screamer 50 II, which imo is a big upgrade from the original one and much more suited for heavy stuff over the Thunder. It can get quite brutal with a boost.

Cool demo, nasty riffs! I’ve always loved ENGL. been away from them for a few years, and chased my rock/hard rock itch (JJ-100 with a resonance knob is perfection), but I’ve come back to ultra brutal amps and it’s time to get an ENGL back on the shelf. I have become a simpler amp, JCM 800 type of guy, plug and go. This may be the amp to go with. I’ve had Savages, Invader 150, and Powerball, and all legends, have too much tweak ability for my needs. I love that this is simplified and sounds awesome with everything at noon. Looks killer blacked out too!
