I have said this before and will say it again. Ren is not only someone who has walked through hell so many times that he knows where all the exits are he also on one of his journeys stumbled on to the lock that unlocks every soul on earth. With this song, he forged the key. I think it's amazing that he says in this that "he might actually do something great." Well Ren, look at the world you have created now. ❤

Perfectly put. Imo Ren is a Celestial being, a Warrior of Light who hasn't just cast a pebble into a lake, he's cast a meteorite into the ocean and created a Tsunami. And he's creating an army of other supportivr Light-minded souls amongst his Collective

Thank you for letting it play; thank you for taking it in without interruption and allowing it to spark something inside of you that no one can really find a way to describe. The best part of your ‘reaction’ to this song isn’t what you have to say (valuable, yes)… the best part are is the non-vocal reactions. I didn’t have to hear your words to know that theirs is a bridge between you and me, and millions of other people in the world. I saw it. ❤️

As someone who's never been into reaction videos and always thought they were a ridiculous concept, it wasn't until this piece of work came out that I have had zero hesitation to click on every reaction I've seen to this. And I think it's important to let you know that it isn't just Ren and yourself who relate... The only word I have to describe this song if you can even call it that is VISCERAL. It is a battle we have been simultaneously fighting and losing to for years. Decades. Millennia. Keep that in mind when you interact with people in the world. We're all fighting our own demons and trying to learn the steps to this eternal dance... Be kind to one another and be aware that you're not alone in the fight brother. Welcome to the #Renaissance and please check out more from him. You'll quickly learn that Ren is one of the most flexible, talented, and deserving artists who has been working day after day for almost 2 decades to get to where he is now. He's humble, he's grateful, and he's real.

Ren became seriously ill in 2010 but his condition was misdiagnosed for the next 6 or 7 years. The meds he was given just made him worse, to the point where he often spent up to 23 hours a day in bed. In 2016 he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme Disease, he received stem cell transplants and his health improved. However, the years of incorrect treatment have left Ren with a badly damaged immune system and some brain damage. He is currently receiving specialist treatment in Canada where he is likely to be for at least 6 months. Ren is a crazily talented musician, singer, songwriter, rapper, producer - he does it all. He has a fantastic back catalogue for you to explore (including collaborations with Chinchilla, Sam Tompkins and the busking band The Big Push). Start with Sick Boi, Chalk Outlines (live version with Chinchilla), Diazepam, Genesis, How to be Me (live version with Chinchilla), Money Game Parts 1 & 2. Enjoy !

This hits emotionally for many reasons it is a brilliant performance , a one take shot from differant angles ,so it has a raw ,honest quality we are not used to any more . It truly sums up the creative ,see-saw ,between hope and doubt . it is in a symbolic way the story of Ren life and his relationship with the pain that nearly drove him mad and the music that kept him sane . It is a powerful portrait of the knife edge we all sit on . Ren has a vast back catalogue of quality work , we ( his fans ) call the Ren Rabbit Hole. It goes back to when he was a teen and even those songs are masterful and sprinkled with wisdom . Ren has been a busker in Brighton England for many years perfecting his skills . He is presently in Canada receiving treatment for the Lyme disease that was misdiagnosed and left untreated to ravage his body and his brain . Welcome to the rabbit hole you will never quite be the same again , its the Ren effect.you may wish to pre order his new album to be released very soon Great reaction ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This song inspired me to get help. Welcome to the REN rabbit hole. I love how every song is different and smart and raw and real. So many of Ren's song pass the ... 'song on repeat for an hour ' ... test. This song was pivotal for me. I was afraid to admit to anyone that I had been suffering mentally from all the external residual goings on in the world for the past few years. After seeing this I was able to admit that it wasn't weak to ask for help. And now I see it as a source of strength to be able to talk out the things that are affecting me. Ren is right ... this isn't a battle to win or lose, it is a dance. My creativity is up and my esteem may come back one day if I keep using my new tools. Now on the other hand the song ... It is simply a masterpiece! It's not a song, it is a piece of art that touches the soul in many different ways!

Once you realize that you are not alone it becomes a bit less painful. You've made it this far, you must be doing something right.... Blessed be.

Bravo sir. Some reactionary posts feel the need to pause the video every 10 seconds to give their opinions or to ask questions that would be answered in the next 10 seconds if they hadn’t paused it. My personal thrill is watching people react like i reacted, then make your summary at the end. Thank you.

I love watching Hi Ren reactions because it reminds me of the first few times I heard it, when it was brand new, and I couldn’t listen without tears streaming. Now I watch the reactions to relive the newness.

Hi Man. Loved you reaction to Hi Ren. It is very affecting. I’m not ashamed to tell you that on first watch i sobbed at the end. In fact, tears welled up in my eyes right through the whole nine minutes. Not wanting to detract from the obvious artistry but his choices of setting, lighting and humour all contribute, I believe, to the overall result. “Shadow REN” as i think of him, is not overtly aggressive. He wheedles and cajoles. He mocks. “You wanna be a big deal: next Jimmy Hendrix?”, “she sells seashells”, “music is all about the creative process”. All darkly funny lines. This makes Shadow Ren more relatable. Even in the frantic, spitting, diatribe, with the lights flashing and the guitar thrashing his character is still relatable. Ren comes back to that. Starting so softly and building in confidence again and again until he finally pushes himself up out of the chair. Still he builds his strength until he literally finds his voice and sings! The next part mirrors the first. Just guitar and voice. But unlike before there is joy in it. There’s exuberance in it. And the lights are flashing. Just like when Shadow Ren talked. I believe that this is reconciliation, reunionification, resolution. Ren and Shadow Ren have found a place for each other in their dance. As Ren himself so moving puts it, in the final spoken segment. A master class. I’m so glad that I’m not alone in the emotional response that i gained from first watching this song. You are a human being. Peace

Speechlessness is absolutely the appropriate reaction to experiencing Hi Ren for the first time. Now I’m gonna watch your Jenny and Screech reaction. Looking forward to it!

The truly staggering part is that we all (mostly) have this struggle and yet we go through life mostly unaware of it. It is my opinion that this hits harder the higher the IQ. The intelligent are riddled with self doubt, the stupid and confident don't question things on these levels.

I wish someone had filmed my reaction to this song when I heard it the first time. It just hits me every time I hear it and it touches me so deep below where I usually don't dare to go. Thanks a lot for your reaction and especially for not stopping and talking during the song. Watching you hearing this song without any interruption was just gorgeous.
