Would love to see a video on RAGE sometime. It’d be quite the undertaking given how many albums they’ve got but the different eras help to split it up & attention can be given to some eras over others. Plus it fits within your wheelhouse especially after doing both Running Wild & Blind Guardian :)

Saints Anger is one of my favorite bands ever. I had the pleasure to talk to HP, the lead singer, over email. He told me that he founded the band with his friend HR, the drummer, in '82. Then, invited Joe Walter, his fellow mate from a steelwork company, to play bass.He was a former accustic guitarist before joining the band. Sadly, HP told me that he died of cancer a few years ago. After Danger Metal, they recorded 3 new songs that were written to take part in a second album, but due to mismanagement and the label failing to pay them, the band broke up before releasing it. Some years after that, all four members from Saints Anger reunited, planning to form a new band, but Joe declined the offer saying that he wanted to play only for fun, as a hobby. The rest of the members, however, wanted something more, so they searched for a new bassist and this new band turned out to become Palace. I have some photos from the band, demo tapes and those 3 unreleased songs, answer this comment if you want me to send you. FUN FACT: I managed to buy the bass that belonged to Joe Walter (the one that appears in the video) from a friend in Hamburg. I keep it as a holy grail in my bedroom.

I will add something from me ;) I got to know the band when I saw Palace in 2015 opening for Lordi. Great guys, great show, I was really surprised how good and how unknown these guys are! Too sad that Palace stayed mostly as an underground act even since nowadays! Whole Palace discography (8 studio albums!) is worth mentioning, adding 2 demos recorded in 1992 and 1993 by 3/4 Saints' Anger line-up. It's worth mentioning that Golden Core remastered and rereleased "Danger Metal" as 2CD album filled with demos, live recordings and plenty of great info in a booklet! Neudi supported the band in the 80s and still supports them now, so that's amazing!

Hammerschmitt: As a native German speaker from Hesse (the home state of this band), it is very interesting/cute to hear the lead singer talking with a slight accent from Hesse (some kind of a Frankfurt/Offenbach one) - wonderful. Their music ist very energetic, I love it! Thanks a lot for all those advises! Keep on Rockin'!

Had I heard Airwolf back around 1989 when I was getting seriously into German metal, I probably would have lost my mind over that album. From just what I hear on this video, it sounds better than the first two Rage albums or even Running Wild. 16 year old me would have gone nuts for it. Also, I had no idea that there was a German speed metal song about "Indianapolis" but I'm down for it. Another awesome video! Always makes my day when I see a new one pop into my feed!

Wow, never heard of 3 out of 5 of these bands (heard Vampyr on a compilation LP a friend had). Amazing how many cool bands from the 80's never got a chance at full career cranking our the metal. What's funny is that Forced Entry was also the name of a Seattle Thrash band (from the early to mid 80's). Being a teen metal fan in Seattle in the 80's is probably the only reason I'd ever heard of the Forced Entry from Germany (since they shared a name with the Seattle band).
