Great video and lesson, even for us - polish metalheads :) Please make another lesson (somewhere in the future) about Acid Drinkers - second legendary metal band from Poznan. That was the first and main band for Robert Litza Friedrich and Im sure you`ll like this band, maybe even more than Turbo... Acids started with sth like crossover punk/trash and go almost only "down" in sound from there. Oh and all of their stuff is in english by design :)
@lemmy85plКүн бұрын
And one more thing - if you don`t know Acids and want to have sth to start on, try those 3 albums: Infernal Connection (their opus magnum!), High Proof Cosmic Milk and Verses of Steel.

I remember several years back, I may have been 20 (27 now), I walked into a certain record store I would frequent after I got my paycheck and my first exposure to something Accept, other than "balls to the wall", was the tail end of "fast as a shark" blaring through the speakers and subsequently the rest of the Restless and Wild album. When "Restless and Wild" came on I asked the store owner if it was Accept because it sounded familiar and he said yes, to which I said they kicked ass and I'll be taking that album from off the player when I leave! He also has UFO 1 and 2 (super rare) which he wouldn't sell, but I did also manage to walk out with an import version Accept's Breaker album.

Accept is better than judas...better guitar rhythm and solos...judas riff is so traditional thers no destinction in all of the songs

So this question has no thing to do with this video but in your X Japan video you said Art of Life was supposed to be released in America but wasn’t. Is there any info on why?

I was introduced to Virgin Steele earlier this year by a friend and boy oh boy, did I get hooked! Since then I have been listening to it pretty much non-stop. It got to the point where I wake up with some Virgin Steele song in my head and when I lay down in bed at night, there's always some catchy riff and chorus playing in the depths of my mind as I fade off to sleep. They are THAT good. As a long time fan of power metal, it all clicked for me when I learned that Tobias Sammet (one of my all time favorite musicians) got a lot of inspiration from Virgin Steele when working onThe Metal Opera albums, and I 100% get that when I listen to David's work. I has been a revelation for me, and I'm enjoying "discovering" this band after so much time listening to the genre. It's extremely refreshing and exciting! Thank you so much for making this video, makes me appreciate the band even more than I already do!

Great video, but for home work you should definitely add Vanity/Nemesis, such an underrated masterpiece, with heavy groovy riffs even before Pantera!!!

Tank supported Motorhead and in my opinion they were Motorhead's equal. 'Filth Hounds of Hades' was a absolute classic in the vein of Motorhead( even to the point that the lead vocalist and bass players of both bands had names ending in Y and they had both played with the Damned).

As I see it, in the 2nd half of the 80s ''label moguls'' weren't still tuned to what had happened with Metal since, say, 79. Both in Europe and America, and consequently around the world - even in the most remote and exotic places - audiences had learned to appreciate and value all female bands or female-fronted ones. Of course the pioneers were scarce but brave as hell and left a trail for others to pass through. In my early teenage years I liked Suzi Quatro and then The Runaways. But from later I also remember Girlschool, Rock Goddess, Warlock, and also Lee Aaron, The Cycle Sluts from Hell, Phantom Blue. And even when in doubt, AR's should have paid attention to the Bangles. On another note, I'm deeply sad about Jan Kühnmund's passing, very talented and very beautiful axe ace. RIP.

I went to Pasadena city college with these guys. Dave Prichard was the sweetest guy I have ever met. So kind, so patient, he liked jango Reinhardt then. Probably where he got some skills. Also John bush was a friend who used to say” I did a new recording last night, wanna hear it?” And we would listen to the cassette in my truck. They all were cool nice guys. Very honest and real. Good guys❤

If Hellhamer and Celtic Frost had never existed metal would've stagnated and possibly died in the 80's. Motorhead brought the speed and the attitude that had a massive effect on the Thrash Metal bands. Hellhammer and Celtic Frost brought the dirt and rawness that influenced almost every early death and black metal man you can name. If that wasn't enough Tom came back after a lengthy hiatus and released one of the most interesting doom metal influenced albums in years. Triptykon continues to amaze fans to this day. Their influence on modern metal cannot be overstated.

Quotes from famous musician and High ranking Church of Satan member and very close friend to Anton LaVey - King Diamond "Satanism is about the Powers of the Unknown. I have had hundreds of strange supernatural experiences with the occult, the other side, the beyond, whatever you want to call it that proves there is a spiritual world that can cross over into our world. Satanism is a life philosophy so within it you can have your own religion, any religion you want. Or take from various religions or your own whatever makes you happy. I have my own beliefs and Religiously Satan on a spiritual level stands for the Powers of Darkness, the Powers of the Unknown which are always all around us at all times. This is the best way to talk about these Spirits and Powers. Of course there are different types of satanism. Must need something bad and use that during ritual then you might be able to get help from these powers I believe are all around us. But that is only if they like you. I do not believe in the two christians beings god or the Devil, I believe in the Powers of the Unknown, Powers of Darkness, The Powers of the Occult what ever name you want to use. . I have done Satanic Rituals and have seen and heard spirits. You really have to respect them for the incredible power they have. I believe they come to those who they feel can handle it and who will be faithful believers." . They came to me to let me know they are here for me on my journey and that they are behind me and that they wish me good luck so I see them as my protectors almost like guardian angels. But 99 percent of the population live by the Satanic Philosophy whether they know it or not. As Anton LaVey even told me that Satanism is simply a life philosophy and NOT a religion. Personally I do not use electrical lighting at home and on my Satanic Altar or in the studio when I record vocals, only black candles as electrical lighting drives away the spirits and I love having them near me. People who see Satanism from the Christian view point are not treating these powers with respect and that is very dangerous. I once actually summoned a spirit in order to prove they are real to a girl who doubted and Satan came. My wife will not look in our mirror in fear something will come out. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. I know that rituals work. I don’t do them often because you can easily misuse them. They will get back at you if you don’t respect them. Rituals can channel the forces that surround us all the time but I respect the powers and will not abuse them in any way.. Satan is the power of the universe.
