Hello! Today we are back on the 1936 Chevy Truck. In this video I am building a patch panel for the fender, so I'll be covering the entire process from start to finish. We will begin by making a pattern, then move into shaping the metal using a variety of home made and cheap tools that are readily available to the average hobbyist.

As a kid, all I ever wanted to be was an Auto Body Fender man, but, NO, I just had to go to college instead. So, after EIGHT years in college, I got a master's degree in Russian language and entered the Army as an Intelligence Officer. I got stuck there for twenty five years and finally retired. I'm now 65 years old, fully retired and NOW, I wanna' be an Auto Body Fender man!!!! Your video is incredible and I am determined to buy a hammer and dolly set and an English Wheel and start smashing my fingers. Thanks so much for your incredible video!

@Carter Auto Restyling recently watch Wray Schelin make nearly the same repair to I think a 34 Ford fender. He used only masking tape for his pattern. Your method with the cuts in the paper made perfect sense. Like the other comment I'm looking forward to seeing how you deal with the wire. Until his video I didn't even know that was a thing. I've been getting a lot out of your channel. You break things into their simplest pieces where even a rookie can grasp the concepts. I'm looking forward to ruining some steel because the next step in learning it is to try it.
