Lol "Swancore" is kinda like slang for them. The lead guitarist name is Will Swan and hes the genius behind alot of their structure. I'd consider it maybe Progressive Post Hardcore or a Progcore of sorts hahaha.

Will Swan is the lead guitarist and thats where "Swancore" comes from. He has his own label, Blue Swan Records, & has a few bands signed (Sianvar, Icarus The Owl, Ediola [their singer tours with DGD as guitarist and back up vocals], Royal Coda [their singer Kurt Travis used to be singer for DGD], Wolf & Bear [DGD bassist, Tim Feerick, is also their bassist] & a few other bands. Will also plays in a few of them & Tilian does solo stuff.

Honestly just about all of their songs are top tier. Personally I love the guitar work in Chucky vs the giant tortoise, as well as legend.

Awesome reaction! For another Dance Gavin Dance I would suggest Blue Dream on Tree City Sessions 2 (a live album from a stream they did a few months ago). For something different I would suggest "CHON - Perfect Pillow (Live Concert Music Video)" or "CHON - Bubble Dream - Audiotree Live" CHON doesn't really have singing in most songs but they are crazy musicians. If you like this style of music, check out bands like Hail The Sun, Stolas, Eidola, Cat Company and Royal Coda. All of these bands have a similar style but don't have the notoriety that DGD does. They could use reactors listening to them as a way to get publicity.

Swancore refers to DGD and any band signed on to Will Swan's Record label, blue swan records. There are some outliers like Dwellings and Amarionette though

Die hard DGD and post-hardcore fan here! DGD technically belongs in the post-hardcore genre, but its signature sound is complexity, specially regarding the riffs, heavily influenced by math rock. Will Swan is the guitarist and leader of the band. He's an insanely talented musician (plays, sings, raps, screams) and also producer for his own label Blue Swan records. Blue Swan records signs bands influenced by math rock and kinda similar to DGD, with every DGD member in at least one of those bands, except for Tilian, who has his own solo career. To sum it up, swancore is a slang for Swan's label and the genre post-hardcore.

i almost called you out on knowing the song by the way your video synced up perfectly with when the song hits.. but then when you tried to unpause the video.. could hear your earbuds a second or 2 ahead of the video lmao no hate.. just so many reactors that seem to forget they are making "first time hearing" videos.. and they are clearly mouthing half the damn song lmao. but yea.. the first 3 albums with this singer are def a must. i actually prefer when ppl do the 2nd 2 first, instant gratification and mother ship.. then do the first one , acceptance speech.. its so much different and a good way to see how he was introduced to the band. ppl say mothership is arguably the best one.. but i swear ive had acceptance speech on non stop repeat after going back to it a few weeks ago their new album is ...eh.. to me. but strawberry wake and headhunter are def awesome rant end lol

Those guys Twinsthenewtrend have gotten more popular than some of these other people that have been doing reaction videos before them and theres been times where one will say he's never heard the song before but will have a video reacting to the song by himself and then reacting to it with his brother and still will claim he's never heard it before. Have called them out on it and got no reply. im sure some of the videos are legit but how you gonna have a 2 reaction videos to the same song and claim youve never heard it before on both videos..
