Metal Stud Framing For Combination Fire Smoke Dampers

This video has two parts with openings 36” x 36” and under, followed by openings with any dimension over 36”.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Frame wall openings as shown.
2. Double vertical studs are not required for openings 36"w x 36"h (914 x 914) or smaller.
3. All construction and fasteners must meet the requirements of the appropriate wall design and/or local codes.
4. Consult the authority having jurisdiction for other acceptable framing methods.
NOTE:
The Metal Stud Construction figures depict mounting plates installed on both sides of the partition. A single cinch plate may be sufficient.

What’s the point of adding those 2 baby studs for your window when you could just frame your opening with 2 long studs and then just put your header and sill in? Truly asking I’m a wood Framed

What is the purpose of doubling the studs on a 36” or wider window?

Structural integrity because the bigger the opening the more stability is needed to make up for how big the opening is

This is so wrong layout for board is so fuckwd up
