When Jimin joined BH he was the top student in contepmorary dance. He was given no vocal training pre debut,and had to ask permission to listen to Jungkook and Tae having lessons with the vocal coach.He took notes and then practised until 4a.m every night,getting up for school at 6.30,at one point having his mattress in th practise room so as not to waste any time. When I heard him,Jungkook and Hobi talking about it on tv my heart broke a bit for the 16/17 year old boy.

I've always wanted to ask but didnt know where/whom. Maybe you can answer this. If i say anything that comes off as mean, not intended. Jimin is my bias and has a unique quality to his voice that stands out in every song. Listening to him makes me so happy i have to smile. Its better than a cup of coffee. Ok to the question. In the beginning, my understanding no training was due to no time and money because Jimin was the last to join. Please correct me if im wrong on that. Has he had training when they could afford it? Why or why not? Would it affect the amazing sound/technical use of his chest voice he has now? I worry about the strain Jimin puts on his vocal cords preforming the incredible high notes. People have commented that he doesn't carry these notes to the end and his voice "cracks" or "breaks". Is he having to push/straining his vocals cords to reach them (he does just fine in the lower ranges), not have enough air to hold it or intentionally causing it to stand out? If you can help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks ARMY.

First of all, I’ve not heard his voice cracking at the end of his high notes. People who want to hate make a big deal when he has started a song off key (and corrected it) or his voice cracked at other parts in a song on the odd occasion over 10 years; meanwhile, I’ve heard every one of the others in the vocal line make vocal mistakes (JK included) and you NEVER heard a thing about it! So, whoever said he never carrie’s or finishes off a high note is either a hater or deaf!! I prefer to take vocal experts’ opinions on how special his voice is/how gifted he is. And in my opinion, when the other 3 go really high, it’s very much a strain because that’s not where their voices sit naturally! Even JK said he can’t sing Filter at that high range through the whole song. If you watch Jin’s neck when he ‘belts’ out really high notes, his veins are bulging - not healthy for the vocal chords! If Jimin wasn’t singing ‘properly’ he would not still be singing at the range he does 10 years later. He receives an extraordinarily high number of criticism from non-vocal experts and I think it comes from a place of jealousy and hate!!!

When I heard Jin sing his part...I fell in love with his voice. He is so humble. He has no idea how talented he is. Have you heard his OST, "Yours"? It's his best vocal work to date. The song has been #4 on Billboard for months and months! Jin could take over Broadway!

The opera like voice you liked is of Jin, the eldest member of the group who learned how to sing in his early 20s. His fast voice development surprised many including the group members as he started his musical journey a little late than others. He is called the silver voice for his wide vocal spectrum, especially when it comes to hitting high notes :)

Jin is really the only "belter" of the vocalists. I feel like the others have more naturally softer voices. Jin is also the only one I've ever really noticed with the vibrato, and i agree...it sounds so good!

Both JK AND jimin also have the vibrato; I’ve heard them several times when they’re singing; there are several reaction comments made about Jimin’s vibrato, one of whom reacts a lot (Adam Mishan - a vocal coach) who has commented on Jimin’s vibrato and JK’s vibrato is everywhere in their songs! If you’ve never heard them, you’ve not been listening very well.

They’re absolutely incredible… the vocal line never disappoints and they sound gorgeous!!!! Jungkook and his emotional execution always hits different… he’s just got this gift for it and it’s been something he’s been known for since debut. The fact that jungkook never really took any lessons for singing just blows my mind… his commitment to his craft is pure passion… ughhhhh I love it !! I also love jins style of singing!!!! He definitely is just crazy in the belting style… I love it…. He and jk tend to project their voices louder than the other two.. just they have very different styles… which are just insane together, jimins high notes and taes velvety vocals…. Ugh so good

The live band backing them really blows me away as well as the fact even Dripping sweat from finishing up a big dance set they still sound so stable live. The lives are always better than the studio recording, how I don’t know. The Truth Untold is my other favorite all vocal line showcase song. All 4 are ridiculous powerhouses and the fact they are such top tier dancers/performers too. As an aside the stage background for this performance is one of my favorites.

Jin has my absolute favorite voice, especially live. They all are incredible, Jin just speaks to me lol when you get into BTS discography you will see certain names in the credits pretty often, because big hit has in house producers they work with the most. Pdogg is one of the main guys, he's produced on most of their hits and I call him my 8th bias 😂 this song has Slow Rabbit who has been a part of many incredible songs. Others include Bang pd and hiss noise, supreme boi sometimes. Of course the members do write and produce on most songs as well, but it's like a teamwork thing where they work alongside the other producers and sometimes will write a song and not release it for years.

They were so young when performing this! Jungkook 18, Jimin & Taehyung 20, Jin 23. They alle have improved even more since then. When you start diving deeper into background content: Korean age is different from international age. You are born age 1 and with the start of a new year, one year is added, so Korean age is 1-2 years older than how we Westerners would count. Taehynung (V) is born on the 30th of December. In Korean age he turned 2 only 2 days after he was born.

There is a lot way to interpretation house of cards meaning. It can be a fragile relationship but it can also how their situation at that time. House of card was release on 2015 in their album "the most beautiful moment in life part 2". This album was planned as their last album before they get disband due the company face bankruptcy from 2014-2015. *"A house made of cards, and us, inside Even though the end is visible Even if it’s going to collapse soon A house made of cards, we’re like idiots Even if it’s a vain dream, stay like this a little more"* They stay in fragile house of cards (their house, a home that they called BTS), that soon will collapse (disband), yet they foolishly still hoping to stay in BTS a little bit more longer even it just a vain dream. *"As if there’s no such thing as tomorrow As if there’s no such thing as a “next time” Right now, in front of my eyes, everything without you Is a terribly pitch-black darkness"* This is how they feel, that there is no tomorrow or next time anymore for them, because this is their last album. Their company still facing a bankruptcy in 2014 and planned to disband BTS on 2015 after their last album get released. But the miracle work on this last chance. Unexpectedly their supposedly last album, get sold really well. Their main song "I Need U" get hit and gained so many new fans and new listeners. And for the first time, they get no 1 at music stage award. And that a start of their rising step by step until now. And because of their unexpected huge successful to get high sell on their (supposedly) last album, it manage help the company financial get better and save from bankruptcy. So the company canceled the disband plan

This is my favorite BTS ballad and it’s even more amazing when you think about JK was only 17, V and Jimin were 19 and Jin was 23. Their vocal maturity was beginning to be seasoned, and a great example of how much effort they dedicated to practice and training. Did you notice the live band performing behind them? In most live performances their band is performing behind the scenes.

Song is about their "end" because of Big Hit bankrupt in 2015. But they still made last album in that house of card hopping and not wanting to disband and... boom, "I need you" got first award, album sold very good, Big Hit was back on it's legs... BTS fixed their Big Hit/ house of card.

You may have noticed that the guys had hair that was damp at the ends when they started the song. I believe that they did a big number with lots of choreo before this song which makes it even more amazing that they could perform a song like this, slow and controlled, after dancing a lot. You would enjoy “Your Eyes Tell,” I think. No dancing, all vocals, but the rap line sings too and the rappers do a softer rap. There are videos with English subtitles. Its a gorgeous song! Beautiful lyrics. I think JungKook wrote it. It’s sung in Japanese.

The reason they are different is because they did not follow the normal pop song way of singing love songs, heart break and so on. This song in particular is about themselves and their struggle with roadblocks and finances at that time. Their existence as BTS was as fragile as a house of cards.

one of my favorite vocal line songs! i love it how you react to lyrics video first and then to a live performance. that’s the best way to enjoy bts’ music! i really appreciate that💜 as a vocalist, i think you’ll see it for yourself as you react to bts more, but jimin changed his style and technique of singing A LOT since their earlier days. he’s a tenor but used to force himself to sound deeper, kinda grittier but now he uses his voice in a way softer kinda way, while sounding more powerful. it’s so amazing to watch him through the years becoming who he is now.. btw, i think rm performed “intro: what am i to you” after this, which is his solo intro to their first studio album “dark & wild”. it’s a rap song so yeah it fits really well after this one.

The vocal line always slays in their Japanese songs. Sometimes they feel like a way for the vocal line to just flex on everyone lol. Jin and Tae especially shine in Japanese songs. House OF Cards is such an iconic and amazing song as I have never skipped it on my spotify list. This song is the type of song that i would imagine being in a drama or film like 50 Shades. The vocal line have such amazing and powerful vocals, that make you feel the emotion in your heart and you can just hear the emotion in their voices when they sing. Jimin’s, Jin’s, Jungkook’s and Vs vocals go really well with eachother and they each bring something different yet suttle to the song. So basically in my opinion this song House Of Cards is such a mood and a bop which makes me feel a certain way (if you know what i mean). Also this song has was way of being sensual yet dark and mysterious at the same time. Also the backing vocals makes this song feel even more intense and you can really feel the song and the melody of it right in your heart. Also the live performance blew me away so much as just seeing their faces full of emotion made the song ten times better. Also this song has to be one if not the most beautiful and majestic songs by BTS. Also i dont know what its called but i love Jungkooks ‘dobidobidoo’ bit half way through the song as you can really hear the emotion behind it as Kookie’s voice is just so beautiful for this type of song. Also i love the way they always put Jimin and Jungkook together to sing certain parts as their voices match perfectly with each other and sound amazing together. Also i love Jimin’s voice in this song as its just so beautiful and majestic and i could talk about his voice all day (as he is my ultimate bias). Also i could listen to the vocal line all day everyday and never get tired of hearing their voices, its like in this song they are serenading me and making me fall for them even more than i can. The style Jungkook sings in for that all too short period is called, ‘scat singing’. It’s a style which is popular in vocal jazz where the voice is used as an instrument. Look up, Ella Fitzgerald Scat Singing, and you should see some good examples.

This is one of my favorite songs from the trilogy "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life". Notably, during this tour jimin had problems with his throat, he was ill and still chose to get on stage. When this kind of thing happens they help each other so that you don't notice that imbalance in the voice. The level of professionalism these guys have is admirable. Very good reaction! ☺💜 PD: Jimin is the one who suffers the most during the Tours, the trajin of the trips and usually affects his throat.

They had been going SO HARD before and after this - all the dance moves (you have yet to see what they're capable of). It was a loooong show (like 2,5-3 hours). House of Cards is my favorite BTS song. I think it's because I've lived the house of cards and having my world clasp around me. The other song that hits me hard and you may already reacted to is: Outro Tear Live in concert. It's the Rap Line and the lyrics to Outro Tear have brought me to my knees in tears.

I agree, the Vocal Line are incredible. I love this song so much. And it always amazes me how they sound better live, when so many singers and bands seem to loose something in their live performances. But BTS... I think it comes from the extra feeling they have when they sing live. I'm so glad you appreciate the beauty of their voices; their tones and harmonies. The emotion and power, and the soft subtitles. The colour and richness. The... Well, you get it. Like others, I would also recommend The Truth Untold. It's a beautiful song, but so full of emotion and pain. I love it, but it always makes me cry. Skool Trilogy + Dark and Wild (album that can be counted as its own era) : 2013-2014 2. Youth Trilogy (HYYH/ The most beautiful moment in life): 2015-2016 3. Wings era (2 albums): 2016-2017 4. Love Yourself Trilogy: 2017-2018 5. Map of the soul (MOTS, 2 albums): 2019- 2020 6.BE (Some include Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance in this era): 2020 (-2022) 7. PROOF (their anthology album coming up in 2 weeks which wraps up all these eras and I believe opens up a second phase of their career): ENTERING NOW Remark: until MOTS incl. There has been 1 Japanese album released for each era (except Wings but there are Japanese versions of some of the songs)... So that's a total of 21 albums over 9 years! Point is, they've built a narrative so it can be useful to know from which era the songs you react to are from because it already provides some context (totally optional of course and you'll learn as you go )... I won't describe the message of each era here that would too much (that's already TMI sorry😅) but once you'll get more familiar with their current sound it can be interesting for you to check them out chronologically and see the evolution from their very raw/ 2000s hip hop/ "in your face" sound to their current more polished sound. You are freakin awesome recognising their vocal talents. There are so many haters out there and you just verified their awesomeness. I'm someone who grew up with Deep Purple, Cat Stevens and later Incubus. BTS are just super talented and have worked themselves to the bone through all the bull haters have given yet these boys have come out of it with flying colours and i mean it literally.

I'm not the type of person to identify myself with a song but I love write stories with. BTS's songs are just perfect to create and House of Cards is one of my favorite to do it. Their songs tell an infinite number of stories and I love them for that. (I hope my thinks was understandable, english is not my first language.) Ayyyy John good choice! They love that devious James Bond aesthetic nowadays and it works really well. I don't usually recommend songs in the comments because I know it gets overwhelming, but if you ever get bored "134340"/"Pluto" is a trippy-ass masterpiece. Also "Sea" because it's gorgeous, kinda sounds like a Silversun Pickups title track. You might love them since you have a musician's ear

They are so good that they can sound like a totally different person singing when their voices layer on top of each other. There are some fun ones where Hobi can’t sleep and gets on and freestyle dances. There are a lot of Run BTS where the guys sing with no music. 6:35 Uhh-huh that's Jin, my bias *ehem! LOL! Thank you for noticing his voice. He's often not a front-runner of the group but he is sooo talented, so intelligent and very funny! If I may suggest a solo song of his if you'll do solo song reviews on them: Epiphany or Awake are the best lives he did. He also wrote a song Abyss that he dropped for free during his bday to express his anxiety that he went thru during the pandemic. I'm sure you'll get to know each one of them and you'll find their personalities so unique but compliment well each other's. Maybe then you can share with us who your bias will be when you get one :) My bias wrecker is Yoongi (Suga) - a wrecker is when one member is trying to get on your top spot when you already have a bias (kinda wrecking your top choice). My list had changed so many times but now I am firm with Jin and Suga. But of course OT7 forever!! (One true seven - love for all members). Though we like one member over the other, we still love all of them almost as equally because as BTS said themselves, BTS is seven, therefore we should love all seven members 💜 Okay I'm spitting too much info, sorry! I love this song, personally listen to it very often, since one of BTS' producer teased that BTS will do new genres after the anthology, not only we are hoping to see more rock tracks but I personally would like more tracks like this, they are doing it so well. The next I recommend is *Boy In Luv* + the live at the *MMA 2019* but also *Let Me Know* it's a must-listen, specially live. Take care, can't wait for the next video. 💜

SHORT ANSWER: yes the following songs were their bangers LONG ANSWER: So this song is part of their 2015/2016 series "The most beautiful moment in life" (HYYH) and is the Outro to the second album of this series (which was their 6th studio album excluding their japanese albums and special editions)! So it made sense to follow up with a different energy so you are pretty spot on. After that they went for their bangers: ->1st back to their previous era (the skool series) with the song Boy in Luv, then Save me and Fire (both from HYYH)! All high energy/ intense choreo! Disclaimer:Not sure if I checked the correct set list for this specific show but I think it was the standard set list for their HYYH tour. Hope it's not too confusing... I'll make a separate comment on their different eras if that can help)

I agree to this! Crystal Snow is my most fave amongst their mellow songs. This also contains Jin's leJINdary triple high notes. The vocal line's adlibs are just awesome! This is my favourite vocal line song. The arrangement with the strong cello intro is wonderful. The words pull at the heartstrings and the boys sing every note with passion. You feel the struggle to keep the relationship alive in this song. I think this is the only example of JK scat singing which is a shame as he’s good at it. Thank you for reacting to this even though you had problems with the recording of it.

HOC was released on the album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 2, at the end of November 2015. This live performance is from maybe earlyish 2016 so they are pretty young, Jungkook is 18, Jimin and Tae are 20, and Jin is 23. It’s interesting to note how skilled they are already - they are pretty tired in this performance too, it is apparently quite late in the concert. For me, HOC is definitely about a relationship, and how it is breaking down - it’s “falling” - maybe it wasn’t built on the most solid foundation, maybe it was somewhat toxic, but they are desperate to be with the person just a little more, they aren’t quite ready to walk away - and many will disagree with me, but I also get the feeling it’s a romantic/love type of relationship simply because of the desperate edge they bring to the vocals, the yearning and need can be felt by the listener - it’s sad, but also subtly sexy…🤷‍♂️😂 They are too young at this point, imo, to understand those feelings 🙈 Thank you 🙏💜
