There's a BTS song called Baepsae, it's a fun song to watch and the dance has a joking feel that really fits the lyrics. It's a big critique of Korean society, but it fits so well in other places too, you need an explanation video, but I'd love to see your interpretation, because they are always so good.

The Real crazy part about this was that at that time JK was 16 and V and Jimin were 19 each and to get those vocals out of them is truly crazy. The vocal line is truly amazing and when you add the rap line vocally they have such range that they can do songs like Fix You and Dynamite and Butter. But the rap line lives and dies for their rap and it is their bread and butter so they love doing those songs that make that side of them shine. People ask them to do songs with harmonies in them and they do but they love to have each member shine so they let each have a little solo but if you listen to the background singers they are usually Jk, Jin, V and Jimin and this song proves that they know how to harmonize beautifully. And as far as why you have never heard it, well radio stations will not play a song that a producer/manager of a group does not come to the office of the programmer/producer of the station and give a little hand to hand (if you know what I mean) to make the producer put it on top of the pile of music to be played. They say it is because America is not in the mood for a non English singer singing a song that most people don't understand but that just isn't true. As Luis Fonsi has seen play on popular music stations with great success with Despacito. But because BTS has a policy of not glad handing for their music, they will never see radio play. In Korean radio stations they even pay money to have music played in radio stations there and not just money but tickets, merch many things change hands and it causes a disparity with music from richer companies played more than poor companies groups. This was the reason BTS had to go out to different countries and Korea knows that BTS had to get famous overseas before it they became famous in Korea.

You just added a whole new dimension to my understanding of the song with the explanation on card playing. It’s one of my favourites of theirs, I’ve heard it hundreds -if not thousands- of times and I never knew it could have a literal interpretation, too. My mind was blown 🤯 Btw did you notice how the lyrics and feeling emanating from this song are different to their other songs? The boys didn’t contribute to the writing and composition of this one. Bang PD, the owner of BigHit, their record label, wrote it along with a couple of other songwriters. It feels more mature, more broken, desperate and damaged, than the boys could have experienced at such a young age. JK must have been 18-19 when they recorded this. Someone correct me if I’m mistaken, but I think it’s their only song giving off that feeling. They interpreted it beautifully, turned it into a dance, a push and pull of emotions through their vocals, but this pure anguish over a collapsing relationship seems somewhat foreign when compared to their other songs. Don’t get me wrong, I love that they haven’t gone down the typical love song route and go about issues through a more existential prism but this is…. Ugh, it’s something else. I would have loved to hear a whole album centering on the yearning and ache stemming from that kind of a broken relationship. I can’t help but wonder how they would turn such feelings into music and lyrics.

The way they break up into units and solos is really smart, because it lets them take breaks and do costume changes without stopping the concert! It's part of how they keep their energy up for 2-3 hour choreo heavy concerts without passing out (much). They have lots of lyrics consciously referencing other bodies of work (of their own and of others). So even though this song might not be part of the Love Yourself albums, the love yourself concept is an organic follow up to the work they have been making since debut (like op is also saying). And since the BTS Universe is both explored in Most Beautiful Moment and Love Yourself, it also still feels relevant. So your references werent that far fetched to me!

Jin, the oldest, is singing the "no way" part. His vocals are usually brimming with emotions. He often reduces Army to tears with it. And I think you are getting the idea about their bag, it's a freaking Mary Poppin's bag! It is bottomless, there is no end to what they will pull out of it. I would love to see you react to "Am I Wrong" I think it has a very Lousiana feel to it. Oh and don't forget the Cyphers! There are four and should be done in order if possible. Great reaction! This song is from their mini album The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt. 2 from 2015, predating Fake Love from the album Love Yourself: Tear that's from 2018. This is one if my favorite BTS songs and it is a real eye opener, I had just started going down the rabbit hole when I saw this live performance and it blew me away. They are so versatile and talented as a group and the vocal line killed it in this song. It's quite unexpected when you start off getting into their music from the official MV's with higher view count and then start watching live performances like this of their b-sides. They have a rare quality in that any genre or style they make songs in, it's them and seems natural and fits, like they say, BTS is the genre.

I’m a really new BTS fan (Army) and they are the first group that I actually bought a physical CD and will stream full album since Bruno Mars. I can listen and stream their collection and will very rarely skip. It’s been a long time since I have enjoyed music and they have brought the love back. Also the videos are amazing and made me miss MTV days. I can’t wait to see a concert. Thank you for reviewing them and other good artists. I value who you choose to breakdown their music.
