Back in 1980 when I was 12 years old, I had the pleasure of seeing Queen, fronted by the man himself, Freddie Mercury at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Fast forward to 2017 and I took my then 11 year old daughter (her very first concert ever) to see Queen fronted by Adam Lambert at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. I absolutely loved both shows and was in awe of how amazing Adam was at performing Freddie's songs and the respect he gave to Freddie, his memory, and his music. Fans from 8 to 80 are united in their love for this awesome and difficult catalogue. Adam can sing it all , and in the key in which it was written. My favorite is "The Show Must Go On." It is breathtaking! It is also so wonderful to see the love and respect Adam has for Brian and Roger and Vice Versa. Brian May calls Adam the "gift from God." Adam has allowed this band to continue to tour and sing the songs that they wrote. It's a union made in Heaven.

Adam Lambert will be the first person to tell you that Freddie Mercury is irreplaceable; however he always loved Freddie Mercury and he sings his songs to this generation so they can hear how wonderful they are. Roger Taylor and Brian May said he is the only singer they have ever found that can sing the entire Queen catalog; they also said they ddin't want a Freddie Mercury impresssionist because that would be painful for them. Freddie Mercury's last words to them were you can do whatever you want with my music but don't make it boring. I think that Adam has done a fantastic job of keeping Freddie Mercury's music alive. One of the things that surprised me is Adam Lambert can sing opera, he was in Bologna, Italy with Queen when Brian May heard him warming up with Nessun Dorma in Italian, asked him if he could sing it, he said yes & surprised the people of Italy who were thrilled.

One of my favorite parts was when he just casually held a 20 second note during Somebody to Love. I hope to see Adam on his own solo tour someday soon.

Saw Queen with Adam twice and saw Adam during his Trespassing album tour. He had a really bad cold on his solo concert so my dream to hear him do Runnin’ wasn’t fulfilled - didn’t have the voice so he skipped that song- but honestly you couldn’t really tell otherwise.
