Thank you Leo for your inspiration. This month I will be making a big move into musical content creation. Literally buying a whole studio set up so I can start having some fun. I've spent hours and hours reviewing and adjusting to what I want and need. Now I'm down to the business part of things and it seems a bit over my head. The whole process of getting a cover or original song licensed and then onto You tube and all the other things is a jungle of it's own. You seem to have mastered it all, but I wonder if things are different for you compared to me since I live in Montana in the US. I mean when I look up cover songs from here, you would think everyone would be doing it. Is there a different rule set for doing this? You really only see the top notch covers and not much of anything else. Maybe it's a You tube thing and this is why you branch off to many different ways. Anyways I'm super excited to get started. I have been dealing with people at work looking at me like I'm crazy for doing this, but it's been a burning passion inside my soul for a long time that must be dealt with. So either I just have fun trying or I'll have the last laugh when I hit it big lol.

james mcdaniel you might want to learn how to breath with the diaphragm. Once you get that, try to slowly apply that with the note you're trying to scream. Also, a FYI, use your flash cords instead of the vocal cords

I’m tasked with doing vocals and bass for Static X tribute. I’m close but still have to refine my filters. I’m def going to use my stomach more because as you described my throat is taxed after songs push it, destroyer, hypure & bled for days. Dirthouse and love dump are currently getting worked out too. I’m using Presonus along with studio artist pro filters etc. thanks for tip of harnessing the stomach for ranges vs torturing the throat. Sub’d & liked.

I was taught by my uncle that when singing you should use it from the diaphragm so your throat doesn't get fucked. Just putting this here for help lol. He said your stomach but the actual term is diaphragm but he is right on this video.

Im getting really unmotivated... I started "screaming" at like 7yo when my dad introduced me to metal (metallica, fear factory, lamb of god etc) even tho i had no clue what i was doing or even saying bc i didnt know english. I started training to really learn how to do it 3/4 years ago, i have watched "millions" of videos/tutorials etc and i still cant "tune" my "scream" i can do it better obv but cant tune it. It seems impossible to me, even theres days where i cant even "scream" a simple line like "the blood's on the wall so you might as well just admit it" and im just thinking to myself that maby its not for me or it is impossible for me. I like my "scream" when it sounds good but i cant even maintain that sound and some days like i said i cant even do a simple line it's like i forget everything. I'm sad...

I wanted to ask you a question because I hear you say you sell your songs. But your songs are covers. Are you getting permission from these artists, giving them a percentage of the sales? How are you doing that without lawsuits? Just wanting to know how you go about that so I might be able to later once I get my new studio up and going.

Dude thank you for these tips!! I personally like to only record 3 vocal tracks. 1 main up the middle and I hard-pan the other 2 L/R. This gives a full sound. I don’t like to record too many tracks because it’s easy for the mix to get muddy that way. Same for guitars. In fact, I only record 2 rhythm guitar tracks and hard-pan each.
