It makes me so happy every time I see Dan interacting with the fans in the comments section. I'll never forget posting a picture I drew on Instagram several years ago that was inspired by "April" and getting a message from them. As a big fan, that was such a cool thing for me in that moment to experience. Thank you, Dan, and thank you TesseracT for staying true. Can't wait to listen to this album a gagillion times!

Dude this song is something else. I don't think in my entire life have a replayed an 11 minute song THIS much. It's so odd how catchy this song is and yet there's no real chorus that repeats, it's like you get hooked on one part then the next, and the next. As a huge tesseract fan this one is skyrocketing to the top of my list, it just gets better every single time I hear it.

Part of what I love about prog stuff is that, even if you're a little lost or overwhelmed on the first listen, as you learn the song on repeat listens, the "story" of it starts to make more sense to you. This one has gotten better with only a few repeats. It's also definitely part of a story, War of Being is supposed to be a concept album. Should be a fun ride.

It's already been a couple years somehow, but there were a few weeks where I'd wake up for work and Dan was streaming, and I'd pop in and hear him rehearsing bits and pieces of this. I thought they were all different songs and couldn't wait to hear them all 😄

I felt the same as you when I first heard this song: I had to listen to it again to really appreciate it. I agree with your con that this is a hard song for newer fans to get into (in fact, even I, as a prog fan, felt it was so complex that I couldn't really grasp it fully on first listen, though that was also my drummer side coming out and trying to understand the polyrhythms [which I still can't] and getting incredibly lost). But this was my second time hearing it, and wow, is it so much better on repeat listens. I'm pretty excited for their new album as well now. Also, happy birthday and welcome back!

May be by myself and call me crazy, but Daniel Tompkins is the best in the scene and can do it all. Although quite a bit of bands now have adopted a similar sound/production for modern metal, TesseracT is still one of the best at this particular sound. Absolutely can't wait for the whole album

That being said, I think Sleep Token tries to do the "genre-blending" thing and ends up doing it poorly, whereas TesseracT is more successful in trying out new textures in a way more musically mature way than Sleep Token.

Dan's always had a theatrical flair. I liked hearing him lean into it more. I wish more vocalists would commit to adding that level of uniqueness to their presentation. Plus, the way he blended the screams in was nuts.
