We rode the rivers of the Eastern trail, Deep in the land of the Rus'. Following the wind in our sails, And the rhythm of the oars. No shelter in this hostile land, Constantly on guard. Ready to fight and defend Our ship 'til the bitter end. We came under attack, I received a deadly wound. A spear was forced into my back Still I fought on. When I am dead, Lay me in a mound. Raise a stone for all to see Runes carved to my memory Now here I lay on the river bank A long, long way from home Life is pouring out of me Soon I will be gone. I tilt my head to the side And think of those back home I see the river rushing by Like blood runs from my wound. Here I lie on wet sand, I will not make it home. I clinch my sword in my hand, Say farewell to those I love. When I am dead, Lay me in a mound. Place my weapons by my side For the journey to Hall up high When I am dead, Lay me in a mound. Raise a stone for all to see Runes carved to my memory

@@BlackDevilGamer138 yes indeed sir, I feel this way about every band that I like. Always seem to play with the most emotion in the beginning trying to be heard. As the popularity grows amongst these bands they begin to get better equipment and sound more polished but at the same time it's more standard radio if you will. Our beloved Norwegian rat Cernunnos lost his battle with pneumonia today. He was the most caring and affectionate rat of our 25+. He was the first at the door; we keep them open at all times, with love in his eyes and lots of licking and affection for myself and all. I only name my pets after Cernunnos when they are the sweetest and most loving. We raised him from birth, he was almost 2 years of age my wife held him abreast all night and day, I placed my boar’s tusk with him to give him strength, which helped him live until 12:30 PM today Eastern Standard time. He was once a giant and mighty rat, yet as gentle and affectionate. He will be missed eternally; we will give him a pyre funeral, and bury him in a mound, with a stone with runes carved to his memory on one side, and Celtic Ogham on the other. I havenae felt this way about an animal friend since my dog Murphy passed in 2002. Let the ravens carry you home to the underworld gently….. Tha gaol agam ort Cernunnos! Jeg elsker deg Cernunnos!!! @DarthHoernchen Have you ever heard of the "Blood Eagle"? BTW it wasn't about the brutality, or the needs of a populace, it was about faith. Some of it was conquest, but the combination of destroying the places of worship (of an encroaching and destructive belief) with the added bonus of riches and fame was a really provocative reason to go "a viking". When things changed, the raiding stopped.
