I'm not really sure, since it somewhere is a literal translation, and some places not. Melancholy (to a degree), lifehope and gravechoir is translated literally, but where "fulfilled" is the norwegian word is "slukket", which is more or less "turned off", so his feelings of longing has ended, more so than gotten fulfilled, but it works i guess. Where he has written "depression" the literal translation would be "heavy mind" (tungsinn), but here it is better to use depression, as it is what he means in the song anyway and at the same time fits better in english. There are many little things and phrases here that isn't translated too well, like the starting phrase should be "The echoes of memories sets the hour" (Minnenes ekko stiller timen) and for some reason it is "silence" here. And he didn't create the land of perdition with his own hands (:P), rather in his mind, but "egenhendig" in norwegian literally means "My own hands" but is rather "all by myself" (as he himself created his own hell in his mind). Found the exact translation (above) on several sites, so i guess you should take them all with a grain of salt.

The first time I ever heard this song, it came on the satellite radio my mom was listening to back in 2007/2008. We lived in Northern Maine and our closest “neighbor” was a small mechanic’s garage/car dealership. This song happened to come on while we watched it burn to the ground. Still don’t know what caused the fire, but it’s been like 13 years and I still think of that every time I hear this song
