One of my favorite things about Amon Amarth is definitely Big J's vocals and how he pronounces every word so you can hear it and follow the story of these songs of sagas \m/ No need to look up the lyrics cause they are stuck in your head after a few playthroughs \m/

I think the enunciation is why i love singing this band's songs so goddamn much. It's far easier than other metal bands because of that

Honestly I 1st heard them on a college radio station out of Boston, WERS.. A show called nasty habits.. where I used to record the music to cassette tape around when the Internet was just peaking and I found the last with pagan blood by searching his clear lyrics and my life kind of changed when I found more of their music after that...this was around 1999

Please do not equate Valhalla with Norse Heaven. Valhalla is in no way shape or form pleasant. You get murdered every single day and everything you’ve ever loved is forgotten. It’s more like Christian Hell. In Norse culture, HEL ain’t no bad place to be. (Insert AC/DC song here 😂)
@gundalfthelost16242 жыл бұрын
Valhall was the ultimate goal for all Norse men, women and boys, and no it was not like the Christian hell...The Norse had no heaven, only the two halls of Glory and Hel. Hel was where people who didn't die in battle ended up. It was neither good nor bad. But Valhall and Folkvang were the two halls where fallen warriors and heroes went to fight, die and feast forever until Ragnarök. Because you have to remember that dying in battle wasn't a bad thing. It was glorious and what the Norse warriors lived for. Basically Norse paradise since the best possible ending for a Norse person was one of the two halls. So it was very much pleasant for them.
@MrCmon11311 ай бұрын
@@gundalfthelost1624 I disagree with Kristopher that Valhalla was described as unpleasant per se. But I disagree more with your assertion that "all Norse men, women and boys" wanted to get into Valhalla. As you yourself said, it's just for men killed in battle. And I don't recall any myth even hinting at non-warriors or women actively wanting to get into Valhalla, let alone all of them. It's also very likely that Folkvangr is just another name for Valhalla (just like Freya is likely the same person as Frigg).
