Couple things to note. Cheesiness is part of the MIW experience. They’re very intentionally cheesy sometimes but We Only Come Out At Night actually isn’t cheesy whatsoever. It’s about the movie The Lost Boys. Cry Little Sister is referenced in the song many times too. Either way I hope to see more MIW reactions! Dani Filth is a feature on Puppets 3 off of Reincarnate too!

As a Motionless in White fan, my favorite album was Infamous, which to me is an underrated album. But, they were my favorite band ever since Creatures.

If you dig the Manson sounding stuff, you should check out their next record Infamous. It was co-produced by Tim Skold who was Manson's guitarist in the 00s and a lot of songs have a big Manson vibe.

I think you need context, the MIW band has many influences as like Emo and metalcore and crossover interest with Horror Movies and Industrial and Breakcore band style. It was all over hot topic in 2009-2010 and even in 2011-12 on Infamous. Think of those goth and metal head guys who also dig wearing Bauhaus shirts and like Morrisey and misfits songs. As MCR and AFI were maybe vocal inspiration and a little Manson too, but with a Danny Elfman meets Cradle of Filth level synth and keys influence that Balz (Joshua the keyboardist) was wayyy into. I recommend you also check out Graveyard Shift (Gothic Metal) Infamous (Manson sound) and later albums too. As well as fellow Rock bands like Vampires Everywhere who were inspired strictly by ALesana and AFI and Manson as well as naming their band after a Lost Boys reference Comic Book. -- Thx for Reviewing

Great review, you made good points about what they are in this album. On my point of view, the second album is more experimental, it has a lot of industrial and Manson vibes, with a tiny bit of something that reminds the previous album.
@JesusDaemon18 күн бұрын
The newest album is heavier and more intense. Industrial MetalCore is very rare. My favorite tracks are Abigail and Slaughterhouse.
@DavidSlEePtOkEnSanchez18 күн бұрын
The newest album to who??? MIW? Slaughter house was the heaviest and that style they did for knocked loose fans, cyber hex was decent and bfbtg are the only actual heavy songs Whereas creatures has creatures, Abigail, puppets , IM and scissor hands.

The synth stuff was a thing in about 06ish til maybe up to 2012, then it kinda died down. Syths were and still are used in the genre, but not many bands use it in this kind of way to what I know of.
@jovanihernandez176620 күн бұрын
If you like the Manson sound, imo idk if others hear it but I hear more Manson influence and more nu metal adjacent sounds in the next few albums after this one then they kinda come back full circlish in their last 2 recent releases

Some newer metalcore you might enjoy, try the new In Hearts Wake album, "Incarnation". Its their first album without a clean singer and they nailed it, crystal clear harsh vocals and you can really hear what he's saying. You could also try Holy Hell or All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us by Architects, which is when they started to include more cleans again, but I'd say they did it correctly and didn't let it change the emotion behind it. Alpha Wolf is also a fun listen, no cleans in about 90% of their music

I'm not as familiar with anything outside of the core genre, but they're are a handful of bands in core genre that do lots of tempo changes in different ways. Whether in ways I think are good or in ways that fit really. Just need to explore the genre more man. Same thing with the clean vocals some sound more "whiny" while others don't. Pick your poison man

react to Asking Alexandria, granted their 5th album and on is way better and less “metalcore” so as for metalcore and asking alexandria old metalcore stuff, their first 3 album(their 4th album doesn’t count, different singer for that album)
