Wow! I have been metal detecting starting in 1974 and have never found a spill like that! I was stationed in Mannheim, Germany for a year in1973. That was a great find, but like you, after a while, I think I would get tired and quit and come back later . Great find and I hope you find better tresure in the future!

But, what were they? New clad coins? Wheats? Inquiring minds would like to know. Update: 5/7/18 I found at 1:08:35 where the kid showed the coins. Sure glad I didn't sit through over an hour of him poking around. Video could have been edited down to 2 or 3 minutes. Besides, the coins don't have any real value or collectable interest. Now, had they been wheat cents, I'd have been thrilled!

I've had two massive coin spills. The 1st was 5 years ago. 104 nickels. They dated from 1947 to the 1960's. Then last year I found 63 coins. 1 nickel, 4 mercs, 32 wheaties, the rest were zinc pennies.

Hello John. It was relatively early difficult for me to stand up. When I re-visit this place, I will take a magnet with me. It will save me a lot of time and pain. A bank heist? Sounds reasonable, but why the spread over (in this case) a relatively "large" area, hmm. This would explain, why there were no "10 Pfennig" coins (this could have been the border). If that's the case, I hope they dropped a gold bar somewhere ;). Have a great day.

Hallo!
@MetalDetecting247 жыл бұрын

I wanted to ask you about your new HF coil. Where did you get it? Are you happy with it? I have been trying to find a place that sells them in Germany. What is your opinion on the round HF coil vs the elliptical HF coil?
@MetalDetecting247 жыл бұрын
Hello, I bought this coil on Ebay. I wish I could tell the difference between the round HF and the elliptical one, but I only have this one. So far I'm satisfied with the HF coil, but I don't expect any miracles. It's not like a new world will open and many finds will start to pop out that the other coil could not see. This is not the case (at least not in the short comparison I made). I used the black coil with 20kHz and the new HF coil, which was set to 50kHz. I hunted with the HF coil first and checked the signals with the other one. All targets that the HF coil saw could have been seen with the black coil (even tiny targets). This of course is not a test that proves that this is the norm, but on this particular day the old coil would find all the targets. I would even say, that you will miss bigger bronze targets with the HF coil, when using its highest frequency. It really is made for small low conductive targets. There is a purpose for it at hunted out spots that produced good finds in the past. You may gain a little bit of depth on some specific targets. The question is, how many objects that fit this optimal scenario are within "the range" - slightly deeper (too deep for the black coil), but not too far away... I will have to compare the 20kHz vs 30kHz in the future.

Why Garrett? Mi-6 is perfect. :) i also had the pp2 for one hunt.. it wasnt bad.
@MetalDetecting247 жыл бұрын
I considered buying the the Mi-6, but when I saw the first pictures, I noticed that the ON/OFF switch was on the "wrong" side (if you are a right-handed person). I don't understand, why XP made this design, but I can only imagine that this would be a problem for me. What ruled this pin pointer out at the end was the OFF-switch delay. I needed a pin pointer that can be turned off with one short press of a button. Yes the Garrett PPII is not bad. The case is strong, the switch looks solid and it isn't falsing (yet). This is an improvement compared to its predecessor. But the terrible recovery speed is a huge step backwards. You may not notice it, if you have small isolated targets, but in cases (like in this video) the slow speed of this pin pointer drives someone lie me mad. When I re-visit this place, I will definitely bring my old (already broken) Garrett with me. The sensitivity on real tiny targets could be better too.

Hallo. 😊 Also top Video.
@MetalDetecting247 жыл бұрын
