I've lived in Santa Monica close to 17 years and haven't done any fishing. I grew up in Miami and used to do a lot of deep sea fishing out of Haulover. However, the waters in that area are really fished out. When I was a kid, we always caught something, but I hear nowadays the boats come back empty. Watching your video made me want to plan a fishing outing with my girl.. Any recommendations for fishing close to Santa Monica? I'm sure there are charters out of Marina Del Rey. Maybe I'll see you metal detecting one day. Great vid!

Sculpin are delicious, aren't they, but can sting? Yep, sand dabs are tasty. Your lady got a couple doubles too! Great!
@ROMY8404207 жыл бұрын
yes they are yummy Sculpin are often called scorpion fish because of there sting, they have barbs in there back fin and on there side ones =( I've heard they are very painful , she did good huh ? Man i got lucky with her shes awesome .
@ROMY8404207 жыл бұрын
yes but its not about the size its how you use them lol jk
@charleswilder29857 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was always very careful with them, because of those risks. I just had the boat crew clip the fins right off them, or had them fillet them for me. They are not the real scorpion fish though, which I met while diving off Okinawa and Thailand, along with stonefish. Yes, she did great, and you are very much blessed to have her. On the other hand, I am prejudiced in your favor, and believe you deserve all the blessings available, my friend! Hey, Tony has finished and is ready to send back my detector! I can hardly wait!
@ROMY8404207 жыл бұрын
Hey chuck yeah me too and yeah thats the safest way =) the real scorpion fish huh ?????? i gotta see these ones ???/ She did do awesome huh i am a very lucky guy , thanks chuck you are a really good friend who knows how to lift a friends spirits I cant wait to meet ya brother even though i feel as if we been friends for years , Tonys the wizard your machine will be the best of the best =) Thanks as always my friend

Hey what's up man, im actually heading out there this Thursday, first time fishing from a boat. What kind of gear should I be taking? Thanks, awesome video btw 🤙
@ROMY8404207 жыл бұрын
Hey Sole Reavor Get Ready For Some Fun =) also to make sure you have fun take some Dramamine for motion sickness, most 1st time boat trippers will get ill, so this will keep you from getting sick ;) and as far as tackle bring at least 3 rods, one four swim baits and lures one for live bait and one i like to setup with a double dropper loop with at least a 4 ounce sinker with a 2 O J hook, bring some medium heavy fast spining combos for bigger stuff like yellow tail and tuna or bring some bait casting setups for Calico and smaller game fish, best gear i would say is what you feel most comfortable with though and bring a few extra just to cover all bases, also have the rods all setup so if they arnt hitting say live bait drop your live bait rig and grab say your rod with the lure setup ;) that way your not trying to cut and re-tie why on the boat in the heat of it . Tackle Box,,,, 1/2 ounce sliding sinkers , 2 O live bait hooks + 2 O circle hooks. 12-20 lb test line, i like fluorocarbon, and 2- -8 ounce Double Ring Weights = Torpedo Sinkers and that should do it bring yoyos for big game fish like tuna and dorado and smaller stuff like jerk shad and big hammer for calico and sand bass ..... Good Luck Man ...Get in on the jack pot its only 5 bucks to enter And catch a big one .... Let me know how ya do .

These deck men are useless they need to put the small fish back to their original ,,release in the right way ,,,one or two years from now we’re not gonna have any fish in the ocean do to you guys ,,,big boats are only after the money
