Miley and her band r playing together since 2005 doing her Hanna Montana days, all of them were Pre Teens when they first went on stage together, 16 years later it's still the same boys on her side, through every Genre, Era, Album.

The thing about Miley and her covers. She respects the hell out of the artist that created them. She picks songs that make her feel something, she connects with. So when she delivers them she does it so well and with top notch respect the original. Some of her vocal changes really worked for this song.
@alexismeinerz3 жыл бұрын
Honestly her last album, Plastic Hearts, had a lot more rock vibes overall. She covered Zombie, like others have mentioned, and that was awesome. She has collabs with both Joan Jett and Billy Idol (Bad Karma and Night Crawling, respectively) and the title track Plastic Hearts is also super cool. Obviously you don’t have time to do all of those, but any of them would be interesting! I was a big fan of hers as a kid, and then kind of dropped off after wrecking ball lol but Plastic Hearts as an album is overall pretty damn good.

🤘🏼💕💫so good… I really appreciate how open you are to Miley, I agree with you on pretty much everything, You and I like the same things about her a lot! Her childhood annoyed the fuck out of me so I stayed away from her for a long time LOL and then her rebel years happened I just didn’t care, I wasn’t judging her or not judging her, it’s to be expected and hers was pretty mellow compared to others out there, and compared to the reputation she was trying to grow out of I’m surprised it wasn’t a lot worse LOL But in her adult years I have like pretty much liked everything she’s done! Sometimes it just takes a little life experience and pain to create good art…She had a surgery on Her vocal cords that changed her tone slightly and maybe that’s it difference I don’t know…maybe it’s heartbreak, but over the last several years I really have grown to like her a lot, it’s nice to see other people open to her and open to changing their minds as well, so thank you! ✌️🌻

They played it tight & didn't try to mimic Blondie. It was a fitting tribute but they made it their own. The whole video is surreal in that they also re-created the look & feel of the 1970s era on screen. It's just super.

I love Miley, and this will sound funny, but listening to her I was thinking something was just a little amiss. I think Debbie slurred her way through the lyrics and Miley is enunciating very clearly, hers is sharper. Not bad, just my observation. But, she is amazing.

No, I would disagree. I was around 14 when this song came out. I love Blondie’s cool, detached, throwaway style. I had an unrequited crush for four years of high school, and Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” helped me put my experience in perspective. The thing I loved most was the style. Blondie did not give a flying fig! Even after the cheating and the disappointment, she moved on. She blew him off! Nothing to see here! Next attraction! “Ooh Ooh Ooh woa!” She did not let him under her skin, not at all! Even though I know Miley’s cover is strong and excellent, no matter how talented she is, in my opinion she totally misses the meaning of the song as Blondie sang it. To me, she is angry and bitter. She let the guy get the better of her! Rock is full of songs by angry women who have been hurt. What it doesn’t have a lot of are songs about women who are cool, detached, and triumphant.

I disagree that pop stars just milk their hits and perform those and get stagnant. I think a ton of pop stars use their pop music to get a fan base and a platform so that they can later do the music they actually want to do. Lady Gaga is another great example of this.

@gabkoost3 жыл бұрын
"Some growth"? That's not putting her morphing into real perspective. She is an absolutely amazing performer. And i despised her younger years and what she represented at the time. Miley was a child being told what to do. She rebelled. She did crazy shit. She went trough heaven and hell. And now she found herself as a burlesque/pop/punk/rock artist with a personality that perfectly translates to the stage. Her performances are no characterization of someone else. It's 100 percent who she is. She became a grown woman in front of our eyes and i am proud of her.
