i swear this man is a legend already no one does it better than him in the pop industry as a male artist. I also love his performances cause there is not too much stuff going on, it's very minimalist and yet he is still captivating and he could really stand there for hours all alone, i could still watch him :')

I’m just gonna come out and write it: Abel is without a doubt one of the greatest artists to emerge in the last decade, at the very least. He is PHENOMENAL. A kind of gifted artist that’s the total package, with incredible vocal ability and impeccable songwriting, performing, composition and production skills arguably unparalleled in the modern R&B/Pop era. An artist that doesn’t come around very often and that’s practically unheard of these days; unlike musical eras past. He is breathing rarified air that not many are gifted enough to ever breath. Take my breath indeed. Think Michael. Think Prince. Think Marvin. Think James. Think Aretha. Like them, Abel is destined to be iconic; we are bearing witness to the rise and prime of not just a legend, and I use this word incredibly sparingly, but an actual songwriting and musical genius. Aren’t we the lucky ones, that we get to witness it first hand.

Your comment about him sounding better live... its no joke! Obviously on the actual records its extremely refined and produced and its a masterpiece. After seeing him live a few times I completely agree with your statement. He holds it together and puts a live flare into the tracks. As someone who listens to rock and metal daily I can easily say this man vocally and creatively is on too of this generation.

Is it just me, now that I've seen the vid again but I feel like the stage is like... The unconsious state? Like he talks about being in the back of a flashing car and the backing lights start flashing like when your eyes are shut but you can still sorta see the lights. It's like his consciousness inside the unconcious body. A bit morbid but that's what I was getting reminded of.
@sauravlal28924 жыл бұрын
Knowing that he is a film buff(especially among the likes of Scorcese and Roman Polanski) from his older interviews, I personally think with this album from a production lens what he is trying to create or replicate are the visual and emotional experiences behind an After Hours experience. Something gnarly, magnetic, vulnerable and mystic. And I think that is his main project for this album, incorporating a cinematic hobby within his primary artistry: After Hours - The Movie. We see this with the music videos for this album(which are still not finished yet) which are all sequential with hidden messages, the character he is created and is inspired by and also the overall ambience of each of his lives. I think what happened is he was trying to experiment not just musically but also from a production standpoint with Starboy to see what works, and he finally managed to do it with this album. Honestly, I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in his album since this is already such an experience.

I think the set design for the video is supposed symbolize a morgue. With the dark fluids dripping down the grates representing how they prepare a body for a funeral and burial. They have to drain all the blood and fluids out. Creepy stuff.
