His level of perfection, personality & add his concern for humanity, Lord Have Mercy! Have never seen another artist with that kind of humanity. I’m 73 years old & I’ve listened to a lot of great singers until I came across Dimash in 2017. I thought I’ve seen them all until Dimash. Thank you for a very sincere reaction not to mention your musical knowledge. God Bless you!!

The song was originally done by a group called A Studio. The lead singer had passed away and dimash paid homage to him by doing the chanting in this performance which is a tradition in Kazakhstan when someone passes away. ❤ There was a man (in white shirt) who stood up at the end, clapping. Please notice him. His name is Igor Krutoy (at the time a retired well-known Russian/Ukrainian composer, who, in the past, worked with well-known singers (Lara Fabian, for example). He would soon come out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash and his father (after a meeting with both). Igor's mother loves Dimash - the families became very close.

You are exactly right! Dimash's goal is to become a professor and teacher of of Opera and contemporary music. He himself has been studying music since the age of four. He was a child prodigy that declared to his parents he wanted to be a singer at age 4. He has since gone on to get his associates is bachelor's is masters and now a PhD in operatic and contemporary music. So he has worked hard his entire life to get to where he is today

Great reaction! His whistle notes begin in the 7th octave. So, no this was not a whistle note there (E6). For whistle note, listen to his “Unforgettable Day” at the Gakku concert and “Drunken Concubine/Diva Dance” with Li Yugang, and “Qazaqstan”, Bastau concert.

i am not sure but i think he was using whistle notes in 6th octave before he developed his voice fully in high soprano range. Those superhigh notes in I AM SINGER are not that pretty but are very piercing ones. I dont know if it is possible to mix whistle with normal register but maybe he is mixing both registers when he wants

@@danielmarkiewicz8489 If you check out his much earlier Kazakh songs around 2015 and 2016, he very frequently throws whistle notes in the 7th register (F7, F#7, G7, G#7). He was so heavily criticized for doing so by Kazakh critics, he quit using the 7th register except very rarely after that. Actually that is all to the good since it is a treat when he does gift us one of his whistles. 6th register is his super headvoice. 😍

23 seconds in one breath with riffs and runs. Unbelievable. By the way he didn‘t win The Voice, He became second in The Singer competition in 2017 in China, because of not being a Chinese. The following year in 2018, they changed the rules and Jessie J. won. And he always donates the flowers to hospitals, retirement homes or similar institutions. And that they don’t scream during the performance that‘s a cultural thing. It has something to do with respect for the artist. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound should be missed. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. That's the norm there. The thing with the flowers has something to do with respect for the artist. It's a cultural thing. The audience listens to a performance without yelling or screaming that the artist can no longer be heard. No sound may be missing. In return, they then shower Dimash with flowers and gifts. That's the norm there. He then always donates the flowers to hospitals, retirement homes or similar institutions. Thank you for watching the video to the end. And I always recommend turning on the subtitles, if available. Here he sings in a competition for young musicians, called New Wave in Sochi, Russia. He was there in 2018 as a guest. The musicians who accompany him are called A-Studio. It's a Kazakh band that also wrote this song in 1998. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion much better 😄. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. These last three mentioned songs are mind-blowing and will leave you speechless. I promise. Sinful Passion: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWqpnXeDeNRrgrc If you like some really great fancam versions then I recommend the one from the Moscow concert: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6mvmaqce6uIh9U Or another one from the Arnau concert: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3uonXp-Z82kq9k They are all a bit different. And for later😉: Olimpico: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpyzhGmqbZmknZY Stranger: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onfWc2h-i9OgiaM Ave Maria: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o32qaZpopNR5iaM If you like emotional songs I'll recommend Ikanaide, his first song in Japanese. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp6wXpWmarV1aZY Or Daybreak from the before mentioned The Singer competition. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles. It’s really important to know what the song is about. I highly recommend you watching the version with the story behind on the Gloria Wu channel 🙏🙏🙏 and then the one from his Bastau concert. It was the 8th performance of this competition. I don’t think there are copyright issues, because the videos on this channel are already edited and there are English subtitles. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there and many friendships still exist today. After the performance he lost his voice again. Daybreak The Singer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4mqd2qsnKqMgc0 Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

I AM SINGER not THE VOICE, 2 Dimash did not won that competition as it was competition for chinese professionals and Dimash joined it as a wild card, rules did not allow foreigner singer to win it, and those rules were changer in honor of Dimash for future shows. 3 he said the title of the song is "sinfull love" and he was corrected by member of A-Studio shortly after mistake was made

A dear named @christineenright7491wrote this, which is spot-on. Things I found to be important about Dimash: Parents are well known singers, composers, producers in Kazakhstan As a toddler. He showed an interest in music. His family nurtured his talent. From the age of 5 or 6, his education had a major focus on music. Throughout his education he learned music, composition, theory, voice, performance etc. He has a masters working toward a PhD in music. His natural talent was nurtured and encouraged. He understands the mechanics of singing. Four things are very important to him: Country and the Kazakhstan culture His faith. He is a Muslim. World Peace. He has participated in various forums and public events in peace and peace has been at the core of many of the songs he has written. His family, including his Dears (name he gave to his fans) Dimash has said that he decided not to become an opera singer because it did not allow for interpretation and innovation. While his neoclassical repertoire is large, he is also a huge fan of Michael Jackson. He has recorded pop songs and has even rapped. His latest music has a jazzy feel. His family is still very much involved in his career.

Dimash did not win on "The Singer 2017", he placed 2nd. Even some of the other competitors felt that Dimash should have won. The singer who did win, Lin Yilian ( Sandy Lin), was a 51-year-old female singer. She was a favorite and beloved singer in China. Some of the other Chinese singers were better than her, especially two of the female singers. Dimash was the youngest (22), and the first foreigner and non-professional in the show's history. So I imagine they needed to save face and not let this young, non-professional foreigner win. However, he may have lost the battle but he won the war. The pianist wrote this song and was accompanied by the original band. Love your thoughts on the song's meaning. I love that cello and it gave that haunting sound to the song. Beautiful. The gentleman in the white shirt giving Dimash a standing "O", is Igor Krutoy. He is a billionaire composer, arranger, and pianist, who was retired and after hearing Dimash, came out of retirement to compose music just for Dimash. Another one of my favorites is "Your Love", where Igor composed the music and Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics... a beautiful song. I am sure several folks have suggested that you react to "Unforgettable Day---Gakku" because of the D8 note. I am truly hoping that you first react to the song when he first sang it on Singer 2017. No D8 but he absolutely KILLED IT. Dimash's head voice is heavenly, but, I love his lower register so much more. Thank you for the video. I do believe your comments are from the heart and insightful. Waiting for more Dimash from you.

Excellent warm and thoughtful reaction. I believe that we have less creative and beautiful things because of greed and selfishness. When an art become all about how much money can I make so I can lead a greedy life versus how can I make art so beautiful that it will move millions no matter the cost.... Today few are interested in any form of sacrifice (of time, money, or blood, sweat and tears). Great art cannot be created without some form of sacrifice. In self indulgent cultures, the concept of great Art is lost. I sure hope you are correct that Dimash will inspire a whole new bunch of kids.🦋🤔 I would like to suggest "Your Love" (red suit version) both in english and very vocally acrobatic. Thank you👍 🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

On why we don't have as much beauty in our world today. During the industrial era, we have changed how we value things. That's why. In the renaisance there was still the idea of creation as something divine and unique. With utilitarianism and capitalism on the other hand, the idea that everyhting should be an imitation and copy arrived. Instead of creating for the glory of God, we started creating in the glory of money. Money is a smart innovation, but any servant will destroy things if it becomes master, and in our time, Money is Master. The logic of money is to make as much as possible in as short time as possible. It's "efficient". But beauty and expression cannot be hurried. A beautiful song will not be better if we play it faster. A beautiful painting will not be more efficient if we reduce the alotted time we look at it. Our ways of gauging value has destroyed beauty. Dimash is kind of a unicorn for several reasons. He has a tremendous talent, he was born into a family that had the skills and training to see this talent, and he himself had the good taste of saying no to a career in sports and decided to give his all to music, which has paid off as he is very kind, humble and passionately resilient in his wish to be the best he can ever be. This is a rare combination in a system that usually don't have time or resources enough to let kids learn about art and how to express themselves authentically. We have become very rich, but we are also poor in a way we have never been before in history.

👉Dimash's deep and gentle voice... I melt away. What a wonderful song, wonderfully sung by Dimash (Russian language). Did you hold your breath? 🤣 The final run was 23 seconds with one breath. 👏👏👏 Dimash sings here as a guest on the New Wave 2018 (international competition). Igor Krutoy, the man in the white shirt at the end, a famous Russian composer, music titan and initiator of the New Wave had invited him. Now, both are a "Dreamteam" and work together from time to time. They are friends, have a father-son-relationship. ... and of course Dimash donates the many flowers to hospitals and retirement homes. The band that Dimash accompanies at this performance called A’Studio, who composed and performed “Sinful Passion” in 1998. The band is also from Kazakhstan (Dimash's homeland) and this Dimash performance has revived the song. *Original: A'STUDIO - Грешная страсть/ SInful Passion (pronounced: Greshnaya Strust) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-cl3utndOUla8 The glottal - stops is a throat singing technique called "bleating", “goat's trill” or „Trillo caprino/ little goat“ used by the indigenous peoples of the Far East. In Iran called this technique „tahrir“ In 17th-century Italy, 'trillo' referred to the so-called 'Monteverdi trill' or bleat, a tremolo-like repetition of a single pitch. Singing these trills was frowned upon. * Maryam Akhondy - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXK6h5Wipql2iJI * Sainkho Namtchylak - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYTUd4adhd-Wnrc * Diana Ankudinova - kzbin.info/www/bejne/e56wqYKsarKnr6c (Thanks to all Dears who helped to complete the information)

Okay! If you want to soar with the Angels listen to his version of Ave Maria and one of my other favorites, 'Vocalize'/ 'Know'.... so, so beautiful! BTW...to hear his whistle note... listen to "unforgetable day' ( he also wrote it as a teenager ) audiences love this song...he often includes them in the song.

The pianist wrote the song around 1998 as part of the group A-Studio, also from Kazakhstan. Dimash is giving tribute to them by covering their song. It's a kind of great deal, because then he gets a backup band that really knows the song. A-Studio was also providing a lot of service to the festival/competition by playing backup to anyone that didn't have their own group.

Curiosity: the man in the white shirt, who applauds standing at the end of the performance, is Igor Krutoy. You heard him in the STRANGER video. He was the pianist. He is a famous composer. Sinfull Passion was his first encounter with Dimash After seeing Dimash's performance, Krutoy decided not to retire anymore and to work with this wonderful Kazakh talent It resulted in incredible performances, songs, and a wonderful friendship

I think this is the song that Igor Krutoy, the man in the front row with the white shirt who’s standing, decided he wanted to compose for Dimash. You’ll see him playing the piano in some of Dimash’s songs. He is a famous Russian composer, who came out of retirement to work with Dimash.

Great reaction. Thank you. I liked your informed comments, especially about the little girl in the audience. I thought exactly the same thing when I saw her. I also thought “ this little girl gets it. Too bad the other audience members don’t” . I know audiences in Russia are very respectful during the performance, but at the end, I would have expected more overt enthusiasm.

I recommend 2 next milliar stones in his career * Dimash - Love is like a dream (Alla Pugacheva) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn2ogq2cprSSopI * Dimash- Olimpico WorldSkills Kazan 2019 (Ogni pietra) KZ_RU_GE_EN SUBS kzbin.info/www/bejne/fampnmOdoriNmLM Two mistakes were made by the host: first, Dimash was not in "The Voice" China but in Hunan TV show "I am singer"; second, the song is not "sinful LOVE" but "Sinful PASSION". This is a cover of Sinful Passion originally by A´Studio. The bass and the piano players were part of that band and the second was one of the songwiters. I guess that would be his superhead tone, not HIS whistle tone yet. Many other singers are able to reach THAT note only by using their whistle register but it it not Dimash´s case. Do not hurry, that whistle note will come in due time if you get on reacting. 8:36 the greeting/farewell to the spirits inherited from Turkic/Tengrenist traditions in certain muslim tribes in the ancient Turan to pay homage to the ancestors and spirits of nature. In Spanish I know it as "hammering vibrato" or "glottal vibrato". In Iran I heard they call it "che-che". It is not yodeling but an ethnic technique relative to yodeling but needs more control on the notes you sing than in yodeling. 3:50 SO DIFFICULT songs that make the singers cry - 2 (ENG SUBS) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmSoiHWaYpaGa80

The most overlooked thing about Dimash is his breath control. I scuba dive so breath control is super important. In this song he does a 32 second BELT not a whisper but a BELT and people forget he didn't breathe. Much love and keep on keepin on J.

We are witnessing 2 phenomenology in the history of the human race. That we dont know what the next generation of AI or Dash song will be like. I am serious. Ive been a dear for 7 years now. I am still get surprised by him all the time. If there was a god for music. Would have to complete with Dimash for place. Hes not just a singer, but a model, athletic, un ambassador for immigration, very humanist, very perfect to a point you start to question ur reality.

Aloha, I am so glad you are diving deeper into Dimash, he is an amazing talent and performer! His talent is once in a lifetime! There is no one to his level and won’t be for quite a long time in the future! Another artist with his amazing talent and performance is near Dimash but more a rap/rock type. Start with Nunchucks, Glimmer, I Don’t Care, Madhouse and Us (from Singer 2020).

It is wonderful to see another taking the journey with all of us "Dears". Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you really enjoy this magic carpet ride. Dimash didn't win the Singer show, though he did win a few episodes within it. At that time a foreign participant was not allowed to win overall. They did, however, change that rule the following year & Jessie J won that year. Someone once said about Dimash that he instinctively knows how a song should be sung & that is very true of him. The man in the white shirt giving a standing ovation at the end, is Igor Krutoy, who went backstage after his performance to speak to Dimash & they began to work together, creating some amazing songs together - Stranger, Olimpico, Know, Ave Maria, Miss You, to name a few. Thank you for another great reaction 😊🙏💞

For those who like information about Dimas' songs: Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash. Hugs from Brazil! Original Version (A’Studio): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-cl3utndOUla8
