This video made me smile the whole time. After winning Eurovision, Damiano showed on Instagram the picture of a schoolwork he wrote as a kid. He wrote something like "My name is Damiano, I like to wrestle with my brother, I like playing PlayStation. Whet I grow up I want to be a rockstar". It makes me emotional to think that that little boy made it and is on top of the world now. He got a tattoo with those lines written by his kid-self these last days. You can totally feel the truth of his passion in everything he does. The whole band is unique obviously, but this guy really is one in a million.

The performance was iconic and brilliant. From the beginning it was clear that it was something different, it was a stroke of genius to start by opening the doors of the stage and Damiano inviting the spectator on stage, we were all there to sing with him. We weren't watching Italy's performance, we were all there performing with Italy and singing at the top of our lungs and until the end they dominated a stage that wasn't just in Rotterdam, but that had spread all over the world. I believe that for many years we will not see another performance like this one.

Man, you nailed it with your comments! It's true, it was like if it was their concert. They just blew away the competition. I mean, competition was not bad...the French girl was good, a few others were good as well, but Maneskin SO outclassed everyone! So outperformed everyone else.

Hi, I'm Italian and overjoyed and proud of the maneskin victory but, I also loved the song Ukraina Shum. I think I know why they advise you to listen to it in full. I admit that to appreciate the basic melody it would be necessary to have an ear accustomed to Slavic / Balkan melodies but the reason why many are crazy is related to the rhythm. They use a centuries-old trick that comes as totally unknown to younger ears. For years in almost all genres we record with the bit in the headphones to make the work of the phopnicians in postproduction easier so this effect was almost gone. It is a very banal crescendo accelerando played very slowly. They are very good at thinking about it and the effects on the public have been seen :)

You should react to the televote announcment at the end of the competition too, it was absolutely brutal the way it completely changed everything (the first phase of voting is chosen by the quality jury of each country, to which then they add the votes from the actual public), this year was an experience and everyone's reaction to it was priceless

At 5:01 you say: "this is a damn party". Couldn't agree more! There's this moment, right before that, it's not here, when Damiano is with Victoria and the camera is panning around them. Victoria turns around and gives this brilliant smile at the camera. That smile, for me, is the smile you get when you arrive at this really cool party and approach a friend and they're like "Hi there! You made it! Join the fun!". It just gives me that exact vibe. I also have a suggestion, as Turkey, we sent Manga (very popular rock band here) to Eurovision 2010 and they ranked 2nd, and eventhough it's been more than 10 years, every year when there is eurovision, we always question "How did Manga not win, man?" 😂 Can you maybe check their eurovision performance, I really would like to hear your opinion. Sadly only the vocals are live here. Eurovision doesn't allow live instruments, as it would be impossible to do the sound check quickly for every contestants. And probably to prevent any instrument dysfunction that would delay the rest of the show. That's a bummer but the performance was very cool anyway!

7:02 The thing is, for some of us "heavy" even including regular rock just doesn't even sound like music. It takes practice to even learn to recognize certain sounds as music. I'm sure they're great, but I simply can't hear that, neither for them nor for that electro thingy you listened to earlier during the top 10 Eurovision video. For me it's more about things like that French or Swizz video that appeals.

thank you for living together with us this adventure might I suggest another band that I think have (in a different way) the same "it"? Band Maid; they are too outstanding live and really good at involving the public. A hard rock version with lots of influences (including on few occasions the music of the devil, that is Pop, 😜). "Thicker" sound, really great as musicians (and the rhythm section!) and the lead guitarist is a gifted composer with an ear for catchy. Go for a live video
