I guess that's what you get with a rare band founded by the bassist. Sometimes the bassist is the cool looking one (The Clash did that and later on The Sex Pistols) who can barely play not here.

I don't know if you noticed it but Thomas the guitarist was the silver glitter cage man, Victoria the bassist was the angel/demon, Ethan the drummer was the snake guy (he also had a snake on him in the first minutes of the song) and Damiano, the voice, the drag queen in high heals boots! 😎 By the way, love your reaction! Just to clarify from a medical view...Damiano's raspy voice is not due to smoking. It would be if it would always sound like that, but it doesn't. He can also sing smooth. I accept smoking on display from artists, e.g. rock musicians, but if possible always good to remind kids that smoking doesn't make you cool. It is their music. Smoking is not offensive, it is an addiction as you say, same as alcohol, chocolate, drugs, TV, etc... with unfortunately deleterious consequences (early heart attacks, cancer, lung disease, etc..). Therefore good to admit that it is an addiction, and then try to battle it.

Honestly sadly here in Italy smoking is still pretty common, and since they're Italian it's not about the fact that they're artists, it's just that they're Italian ahaha! In a friend group it's almost impossible to not find at least a couple smokers, and some start very (VERY) young Not saying it's right, just that it's the reality here

So there is still a lot of work to do politically to at least ban cigarettes from children. If you don't smoke by the age of 19, it is very rare to start after that.

Great reaction! Also I liked your comment on the bass. You are so right, soo neglected in so many bands. Not in maneskin, which is actually no surprise. Even if Damiano is the front guy, Victoria is said to be the secret boss of the band 😂 although she denied it once. She founded the band and actually kicked damiano out of the band at first, cause he didn’t wanted to fit in. Well now they are one hell of a band, everyone knows his/her role and they kick ass. Btw, this song is from their first proper album, where they had a slightly different style. Being more funk, raggamuffin oriented. There is a 1 h long documentary on how they made this album. As the bass is a topic here, and Mad Ang keeps pointing out the strong presence of Victoria's bass in their songs which is absolutely true, I tried to think of songs with strong bass or of bands who give the bass a personality so to speak instead of it just tying the song together with the basso continuo or something. I could not think of many out of the blue, but at least of some: Some Like It Hot by The Power Station. It starts with Tony Thompson's drumming, and then comes the bass, played of course by John Taylor. Then: Mark King's bass playing with Level 42. he being also the frontman. Walking On The Moon of course with that famous bassline.
