This song is about a venereal disease - "The Jack" is Australian slang for Gonorrhea, which is also known as "The Clap." AC/DC lead singer Bon Scott explained the origin of the song in a 1976 interview with Sounds. Said Scott: "We were living with this houseful of ladies who were all very friendly and everyone in the band had got the jack. So we wrote this song and the first time we did it on stage they were all in the front row with no idea what was goin' to happen. When it came to repeatin' 'She's got the jack' I pointed at them one after another." Added guitarist Angus Young: "After that, wherever we did the song the girls in the audience would run to the back of the hall."

On their first studio recording of this, the song is about a game of cards, but full of double entenedres. However, when they do it live they sing the alternate lyrics which are completely unambiguous.

@@randywissler9923 He's reacting to AC/DC's biggest tour of all time, so I'd say it's okay. Also, Bon himself never performed the original live. He only ever did it with the more explicit lyrics. And to be honest, I can get somebody liking Bon's singing style more than Brian's, but nobody in AC/DC has ever had "swag" in any context. They're just a bunch of regular guys with regular personalities that just happen to be incredibly talented musicians. People can try to come up with reasons why Bon was objectively better, but it's all entirely subjective in the end. River Plate is honestly my favorite rendition of the Jack; it feels bluesier than the original, and it has the best soloing in my opinion. Does that mean it's better? No. I personally like Brian just as much as Bon, even on some of Bon's own material. You can state a preference, but if someone prefers something else then that's that. Music will forever be entirely subjective, and there's nothing wrong with that. Saying he "needs to" react to the original instead is like saying he can't react to Johnny Cash's "Hurt" cover instead of Nine Inch Nails. You may prefer the original, but he can react to and/or prefer whatever he wants. Just because you prefer something doesn't mean it's unequivocally better than anything else.

Best part is I was literally second row at that concert. Hands down the best concert I've ever attended. The intro sequence with Angus Shoveling Coal and Brian in the Conductors seat, maaaaaaan when that bigass train busted through the Projector screen and they all got off the locomotive playing "Runaway Train, Runniiiiiing riiiiiiight offf the track!!" That was the most hyped my little 13 year old self had ever been to that point lol

The Angus striptease has been a part of the show since the Bon Scott days - AC/DC got banned from playing a lot of Aussie towns for it back in the day - also part of the reason they were nicknamed The Seedies down here. He does boxer shorts now, but he used to be bare assed in the early days.
