I always played the starting clean riff at the top of the neck and the distorted version of that riff up at 5th fret, you have it opposite but I like the options.

The ‘p’ is a pull-off. You pick the string once but use your fretting hand to pull off from the high note and let the lower note sound. The opposite would be a hammer-on (pick string once, fretting hand starts on a lower note then your other finger hammers on to the higher note)

Kirk does not play an A power chord, instead he plays an Bb power chord. Also I found your clean tone excellent. But, your crunch needs a little more gain imo.

Hey, if you speak about the intro, what i play is exactly what they play on the album, this is for sure. He start with E5 and A5 (with the snare) , and after in the intro he plays Bb5 and A5, and of course the E5. Have fun with it.
