Those who say all metal is just screaming should listen to this. I think this would be the perfect song to make someone understand metal. The lyrics are so intelligent and relevant. And each riff in the song is absolutely amazing, they are just so cool. It makes you think about all the work that went into this and the talent required. This song is art and is beautiful. Not beautiful in a conventional way but in a way that can’t really be explained with words.

The screaming metal vocalists do like Corey Taylor from Slipknot or Johnathan Davis from Korn also take a shit ton of effort and skill, it's just a different style. People don't have to like every different style of vocals but you have to give credit where credit is due, musicians in general are pretty cool.

This was the first Metallica song I ever heard. I was actually at a play with my dad and sister (42nd Street). I think that was at the Greek Theater. I noticed there was a Korean kid with his parents who had headphones on his head during the entire show & I was thinking "what's he listening to that's more interesting than this play?". I didn't say anything to him until after the show, I was interested in what he was listening to so I asked. He put the headphones on my head and started this song. I was like "Holy shit! Who IS this?!"; he said "Metallica". I've been a fan ever since but I think this will always be my favorite song of theirs.

Why would I be proud of that...just saying this album got me through a shitty part of my life....oh...were u being sarcastic 1999Dorito.....maybe u should work on ur material cuz what u lack in humor n creativity u make up for it in ignorance n the need to be the center of attention....yeah I can tell that by the one line u wrote.....so if u want to talk slick to me u gotta come better than that sport!!!!!

To everyone saying this song is “prophetic,” just know the boys didn’t write this song in a vacuum. The 80’s and 90’s were hardly any different than nowadays.

It's wild how songs like these can have a totally different meaning in a modern interpretation than how they were originally intended in their original context. Censorship was very much an issue when AJFA came out, but now in a world of 'Free Speech Absolutists' and 'Modern Cancel Culture' the song takes on an almost sinister nature.

***** Its really weird when artists just repeat this one short line or riff and it sounds SO GOOD. Ozzy Osbourne did the same thing in his song "Diary Of a Mad man" just a simple short riff repeated for like 10 seconds, but i kept replaying that one part over and over and over.

I always felt that this album, while not my favorite from them (Lightning is my favorite) has a certain hard, angry edge. These are their first recordings since Cliff died, and they may not have wanted to go into the studio so soon after except for contractual obligations. I could be wrong, but I think they were wrestling with how they felt and wondering if they should even go on as Metallica, and this confusion added to the overall feel of the album. Justice was certainly a heavier album, and (in my opinion) better than Puppets. My favorite Metallica albums, in order, are: 1) Lightning 2) Justice 3) Kill 'em All/Puppets/Garage Days(tie) Everything else that they recorded, I do not own or listen to as it is more rock than metal. Just my .02 cents.

Justice in my opinion is Metallica's best album. All of you can yell at me and keep saying that it's master of puppets, but that album doesn't even come close to giving off the feel that this album gives to me. This album is the one that has lyrics that get me thinking. This is the album that gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I've listened to it. In all honesty, I consider master to be overrated. The lack of any real bass on this album doesn't diminish the quality of any of the songs. If anything it improves it. It gives the album a much more raw and angry vibe that I absolutely love. The riffs and lyrics are much more original than the other albums in my opinion too. That's not to say that I don't think that the other albums are great too though. It might be because I love Iron Maiden, but this album has much more atmosphere and originality to it. I've never been the biggest fan of thrash metal, and have always been much more into power/symphonic metal. I think the same way with Judas Priest's Nostradamus album.
