YES. I love how he uses that E power chord to make the "ding-dong" pattern of the tolling bell with the low E, especially because the chord makes it sound fuller and more powerful than if it were just a single note pattern. Plus Cliff just knows how to rest on the G, and then have the perfect lick to go on to the next set of bars. Also the C and A octave lines are peak metal badass. RIP Cliff, you brilliantly creative SOB.

Except it always sounded to me like he slid up into the 6th note higher on the neck where the main riff starts. You could pull that off easy.

@@cyndie26 most people who learned songs played by ear, which meant they could listen to the notes but they didn't read music. So they documented it in tab, and for genres like metal, blues, folk, etc. that's how people learned. I wish it was more common too, but it's like that for a reason.

That walking riff/bassline when the guitar comes in is a straight up two step part. Just imagine a bunch of hardcore kids doing that to a band like power trip. Metallica always had some of the coolest riffs

No copyright infringement or anything intended. Lyrics for sing along: Make his fight on the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside! Shouting gun, on they run, through the endless grey On they fight for the right, yes but who's to say? For a hill, men would kill, why? They do not know Stiffened wounds test their pride! Men of five still alive through the raging glow, Gone insane from the pain that they surely know For Whom the Bell Tolls...Time marches on! For Whom the Bell Tolls! Take a look to the sky just before you die, It's the last time he will! Blackened roar, massive roar, fills the crumbling sky Shattered goals fills his soul with a ruthless cry, Stranger now are his eyes to this mystery, Hear the silence so loud!!! Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be Now they see what will be, blinded eyes to see For Whom the Bell Tolls... Time marches on! For Whom the Bell Tolls!!!

Awesome bass line won’t lie though more straightforward then I thought which I love nothing better then a bass line that sounds good and doesn’t take a whole year to get down perfect

CoverSolutions When I play the beginning, G string on 19th fret, it sounds higher than it should be. I played this song last night and several people commented that it sounded too sharp, how do I dull the sharpness to get your sound? I double check my tuning and am in standard EADG @440 with only distortion, no fuzz.
