@JSmusiqalthinka2 жыл бұрын
YES. I love how he uses that E power chord to make the "ding-dong" pattern of the tolling bell with the low E, especially because the chord makes it sound fuller and more powerful than if it were just a single note pattern. Plus Cliff just knows how to rest on the G, and then have the perfect lick to go on to the next set of bars. Also the C and A octave lines are peak metal badass. RIP Cliff, you brilliantly creative SOB.

MaggaraMarine How come there seem to be very few bassists (other than for orchestral and jazz music) who prefer reading in the bass clef over reading tablature?
@flipierfatalbina47576 жыл бұрын
@@cyndie26 most people who learned songs played by ear, which meant they could listen to the notes but they didn't read music. So they documented it in tab, and for genres like metal, blues, folk, etc. that's how people learned. Fretted instruments are the only instruments where that's really possible, or else guitar and bass and so on would a similar amount of people reading in standard notation. I wish it was more common too, but it's like that for a reason.
@cyndie266 жыл бұрын
FlipierFat // Daniyar It just seems easier, especially if you're transcribing by ear, to know what notes to play first and figure out the fingerings later. Plus, I learned the piano before I taught myself the bass, so I knew the bass clef more going in.
@levilee2075 жыл бұрын
@@cyndie26 Put simply, tablature takes half or even a third of the time to learn compared to standard notation. Tablature even contains the signifier notes like staccato notes, sustained notes, time signatures, etc. It just removes the difficult part of reading music. I think it's most prevalent in musicians who don't plan to play any instruments besides guitars
