I saw Greta Van Fleet open for Metallica and I thought it was kind of an odd pair, but I get it now after your explanation. Gotta bring in the young people.

When I went to see Metallica in the movie theater for both nights, I was one of the younger ones in the audience. I’ll be 45 in December. You are correct.

I personally don’t care if a band is popular or not. I just want to enjoy the music. I’ll admit there’s some bands from more recent times that I enjoy like Dirty Honey and Greta Van Fleet but they’ll never top bands from the 70s and 80s :)
@muziktrkr Жыл бұрын
The only reason Metallica outsold Taylor is because of her stage and production. Metallica does their shows in the round which fits more people in.

I saw gretta van fleet in nashville whille on a vaca. They headlined a huge arena. And I was suprised to see a lot of younger kids my age. I think they are doing something but I don't know about bringing rock back. I overheard some group of people at the show saying something about seeing some stupid rapper. I think they just put rock more in the public eye. I don't think they can do much more.
@LouisFLamas Жыл бұрын
That is good. But remember they are playing in the round which can have more people as to Taylor at the end stage. I would like for them to go back to the end stage, The stage they have now is way to big for them, it just about swallow them up. Good show, But I have heard lots pf complains about the stage being way to big for them. Just my take along with others.

I mean Greta Van Fleet has what 6 #1 singles now? I think they've kinda gotten away from their sound that got them there and turned weird. That being said i did see them at the paramount in Seattle and they sold out both nights. They also played Rodgers arena in Vancouver so they are playing arena shows now. Another great band is a Canadian band that is a duo called Crown lands, kind of a Zeppelin/Rush mix. March 1, 2022-On the heels of their sold out Spring, 2022 Dreams in Gold arena tour Grammy-award winning rock band Greta Van Fleet announce new arena shows for this fall. Kicking off August 16 in Quebec City, QC the band will make stops in 42 cities across the U.S. and Canada; see below for a complete list of dates. The expansive new dates follow the band’s spring tour, which sold out over 100K tickets in just two days and kicks off coming up on March 10;

Glad to hear they broke her record. But you know the “Swifties” will tell you that you have to count the people in the parking lot that couldn’t afford to get in 😂 Long live rock & metal! No disrespect to your point of view, but the young kids are showing up because their parents are bringing them as well. Sure the younger acts help, but parents are sharing their love for the band with their kids

Nothing against Swift but will she be setting attendance records in 25 years from now? The fact that Metallica is breaking pop artist attendance records is insane considering she's underselling tickets to a 40 year old metal band.
