I was born a metalhead, as my mother used to listen to Metallica a lot when she was pregnant. But I did not know until I got my first CD player (~ 11 yo) and started browsing through my parents' CDs. Found metallica (albums from Kill em all to Reload), dad suggested Master of Puppets and damn I was astonished. Got high five from both of my parents \m/ after I told them that is the best thing I have ever heard.

Watching James Hetfield’s interviews, he explained that the beauty of this song is that it isn’t wasn’t really intended to be about drugs. It can be related to any vice; alcohol, drugs, adrenaline, gambling, relationships, etc. Most people can relate to struggles of something controlling them or feeling like they aren’t in control. Awesome song! One of my favorites.

You sir, are the coolest father on KZbin. So far, I've only gotten to see your reaction videos for Metallica, AC/DC, and good ol' Leo Moracchioli, but it was already more than enough to prove that you're metal a.f.! New subscriber right here, so now I must indulge myself on all past KZbin reactions on this channel. 🤘🧐🤘 I was losing it when you told your daughter that you were expecting even her to start moving her head during the bridge section since it's almost physically impossible not to, haha. I totally agree! You throw me some Pantera on, maybe "Battery", followed by "Whiplash", or Black Sabbath's "Symptom of the Universe", and I'd be up off that chair having a mosh pit with myself, occasionally smashing my head off the wall like I'm gunning for brain damage, lol. Seriously though, I've said since the beginning of this reaction trend, that if there's one major upside to just anybody with a KZbin account doing these, it'll be from the ones who are exposing others to good music that otherwise would never have given it a chance, or from uploaders that are checking out these artists themselves, continuously giving this style of music another chance with an open mind. You are doing exactly that with your children, along with thousands of others curious viewers on KZbin. Keep doing what you're doing, man. I can see your channel growing constantly and I'm more than confident that the growth will continue. 🤘 Rock on, metal brother! 🤘

But she was right, there's Master, Faster, Laughter, in the song. This video brought me a lot of memories. I miss Jason in the band, and that drum man... I saw that beast in my first Metallica's Concert, it was Insane!!!! One of my favorite bands ever, and always a good show to attend. I was paying attention to the video and your daughter gives some tips with her face, the way she moves her eyes and nose... you just have to pay attention to her, and you can tell if she likes the song or not. I think she's more like curious about certain things of the performers, the genre, a guitar solo, an audience reaction, somebody looks, or even the way they scream in a random note. Anyway... it's fun, but she's not a metal fan though lol Keep trying, maybe with Ozzy or Sabbath. Oh! Show her Metallica's Concert in Moscow, that concert is legendary.

She was right! They do say "laughter" throughout...it's not about whether she likes the songs or doesn't...what's cool is she's having an open mind for her pops and willing to give his music a try. That's all you can really ask. Let's face it, kids aren't supposed to like their parents music, never have. It will take a while before she would honestly get into it, if ever. If you're a modern (like most young kids) hip-hop r&b head, jumping straight into metal without baby steps isn't the easiest thing to do.

All kidding aside, I'll only speak for myself not anyone else, but you don't have to apologize for pausing it too much or for either of you being who you are. I myself watch *reactions* to see/hear their... reactions/opinions! If I just want to hear the song without getting others' inputs, I'll just cut the middleman and go to that original video, which I do do too. If she digs live crowd reactions/connections, I could suggest Slipknot - Spit it Out (live at 2009 Download Fest). It's a pretty popular video here on youtube for that category. I must warn you though that there's a LOT of F-bombs in it. So if you're not ready for her to hear a lot of F-bombs, then I'll take that suggestion back.

It’s going to be interesting to see how he explains about “fix me” “needlework the way” and “chop your breakfast on a mirror”. By the way, I love this version. Going from to live is to die straight into puppets is the perfect combination. Especially that part of to live is to die is one of the nest riffs they did. And then he went for it with a full explanation. I guess kids these days probably know about all that than I did at her age.
