Sadly my classical pianist father (died 1976) never got to hear the great rock bands. He considered all modern music as trash. Much of it really was (still is) but the cream always rises to the top. This is an epic performance of a truly great composition.

I'm a rocker and a metalhead. That's almost all I listen to because rock as a whole is my passion and despite that when I chose to play a certain instrument I chose the piano because there is one thing that characterizes the piano and makes it extraordinary unlike drums or guitar and that is that it does not need the accompaniment of other instruments . The piano is able to play both the vocal part and the melody or background part. I tried to learn guitar when I was 11 and it didn't work. I switched to the piano despite some of the stereotypes about the piano being seen as an instrument that is less suitable for this music and i realized it's better for me. With that being said. rock on!

When I was about 5 years old, my mother signed me up for piano lessons. The piano teacher after about 3 months said that I was gifted. But sadly I got bored with it and quit. Biggest mistake of my life. It's unfortunate that we can't go back in time and talk some sense to ourselves. I would love to play now. 😢. I remember watching this for the first time. It was also my first Gamazda video. At the begining I said "OK, this is nice". Then, as the song progressed, I realized what a huge understatement that was. All skill and passion and beauty, everything mixed in one person. Just like you, i got this recommended and took a shot at it. But I disagree about the result. There's far too much theatralisation and "youtube show effect". If you just listen at it without image, it becomes far less impressive. Up to the solo (which on the other hand I really liked) there's not much sensitivity : it's pretty much all "power play".
