every Metaalica album is special to me and none of it I consider even close to being bad. Metallica are on the level of legends like _Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Ac/Dc, Rolling Stones , The Beatles, The Who, The Cream... --I call it "the legends level", but hey thats just me and my taste, could mean nothing to someone else and I totally respect that. I use to be very hot metal head critical fanatic, but now I just feel cool and enjoy music without prejudices, and life is much more beautiful !

I am *eternally* a Metallica fan. James has always been my fave and my lifetime crush. I wish I could know him as a person rather than an icon. He seems to be a super down-to-earth person. He has issues too in life. But he is still an amazing musician and performer. I am a Metallica fan forever.....

I was an avid Metallica fan up until late 1991 when I heard they were going on tour with Guns 'N' Roses in the following year. Both were on my Top 2 List, but the mix irked me, because by that time, real music was on its way out. And when the black album was released in 1992 (I remember hearing "Nothing Else Matters" and cringing, saying "That's not Metallica!"), my lack of avidness then plunged into disgruntlement. (Yeah, I'm making up words - they express my emotions at the time!) Anyway, shortly after Metallica released the black album, they got involved with the Freddie Mercury thing, which was sort of ticking me off (though I loved the Metallica version of "Stone Cold Crazy"), and then they cut their hair (like everyone else), and then grunge somehow got popular all over the place, and then I just said eff it - eff it all to aich. But yeah, I can still remember that void between bad-ass heavy metal of the late 80s and the wussy grunge of the early 90s. It seemed like it lasted about a year - it was weird. And then it just did a pole-flip and magnetic field reversed itself... Real music was dead. The black album just sucked in my opinion, and I had no interest in Metallica's other projects. I tried to get into the Garage Inc. thing, but by then I knew music was dead. So when Load and Reload came out, I didn't even know it. I figured they sucked anyway. (Turns out my intuition was correct - I discovered that crap about a year ago, about 15 years after the fact!) And when I found out Metallica was doing music videos galore, movie soundtracks, wearing eye make-up, doing those pansy drugs, and just all their stupid crap... well, it didn't surprise me, sadly. I think it was about a month ago when I discovered Death Magnetic. (Yeah, about... what... 6 years after the fact...?) Turns out that is a pretty bad-ass album. It actually made me want to like Metallica again. Anyway, why the fuck did I just write all that? I guess I just hope Metallica doesn't suck even harder going forward. I saw them in concert a few years ago because a friend took me for my birthday. From this video I watched here, it seems like I was a part of their "greatest hits tour" thing James was talking about. That's pretty cool. And I saw "Through the Never" - not my style of thing, but pretty cool nonetheless. Made me miss the old, real Metallica, actually - not what the 90s did to them. Oh, well... eff me. Have a good one.
