I guess because they knew the album would end up on KZbin regardless, so they wanted to put it out themselves and have control over the process.

This is one of the songs my grandma asked to put on when I drove her home from her sister's house. At first I thought she was kidding so I asked her, to be sure "you mean the song I stopped when you came in the car? Mind you, it's pretty aggressive". She was not kidding, apparently I made her discover metallica and she loves them. She literally adores S&M 1 and 2

@@asmodai2025 yea I know i tried but I think she likes metallica in particular because their songs are the easiest to listen to, especially the lyrics since James doesn't scream too aggressively. @Mahmut Ebrar AçıkVEVO Yes, but 1. Rob came up with the riff if I remember correctly 2. Bass solo that's the same as the guitar riff has happened before in metallica. In orion, you have the bass solo after the guitar part in the beginning, and once that bass solo stops playing, the guitar plays the same riff. And the interlude bass solo, there is a very quiet Clean guitar playing the riff so no.

I agree, and also feel like Room of Mirrors is a sequel to this one. In the making of Spit Out the Bone video, one can see that initially, the song sounded more "happy", not as menacing as in its final version. Unfortunately, in Room of Mirrors they did not manage to remove the "happiness" and make the song menacing the same way they did for Spit Out the Bone.

Well, I heard it this very same year after listening to every single Metallica song in order, so, to me, this song was just yet another masterpiece. In fact, most of the songs I've heard when I was younger are not within my favourites. I know I heard Whiplash playing Tony Hawk, for example, and also a lot of other songs from Guitar Hero: Metallica, from which I only remembered Enter Sandman and Frantic. However, most of my favourites come from the last 3 albums rather than the old ones I may have heard when younger

I love what Metallica have done with this album, it has taste for every type of metallica fan, theres 80s elements, there are 90s elements and even dare i say, st anger elements in places and some new age songs, its really a well rounded record

What a Journey! Opening chugging and drumming grabs you then the main riff carries on and into that epic bass section. Maiden-esque harmonics then a pantera brakdown. This is METAL!!!

Yet, you didn't even mention the best part: the chorus! Vocals are killer throughout this whole record and it culminates in this chorus.
