Agreed! Sometimes, it's too late to ask for forgiveness for our wrongs, especially if we did them on purpose! That line "You ask forgiveness, I give you sweet revenge, reminds me of a "Future Event" that's coming. I won't go any further, than to say that I'm speaking of a certain, fearful judgement, when we want forgiveness for our wrongs, only to hear the Great Judge say:"Depart from me, you workers of iniquity, into everlasting fire, prepared for the Devil and his Angels! I know you not"! I know that this is along Christian lines, but, if you think about it, even James Hetfield here makes mention of the World's first Murder Victim (Abel), & the World's first Murderer, Cain. He's right, and he's quoting straight from the Bible! If you were to get a chance to talk to James Hetfield, he's definitely not an Atheist. He does, to a degree, believe in God!

+Patrick Donahue I agree you hear bits and pieces from old albums as well as parts that remind me of bands they liked and respected there's part of one solo on this album that's straight up rush solo the way they've blended all this together into very good songs to me makes this album epic if you listened to a lot of older bands and got a decent ear this album is something special

rishka9825 this album is a huge reflection as to how much of a perfectionist Hetfield really is. He understands at this point in their legacy, every song counts and personally they're no dudes on this on this one. I'm a Metallica fan so my only gripe is the rewrite of "lords of summer". The music was better but the words, not so much.

Fuckin' idiots, man! I hate also when someone says that this album is by far their best since 1988 or 1991 and that Metallica are back. What the fuck? Black Album is pure masterpiece and actually, if we want to be honest here, thanks to this album most of the people who were born in 80's and raised in 90's are listening to heavy metal music. Load is also pure masterpiece, but people do not like changes. Reload was awesome too and Death Magnetic is a pretty good album. The only album that i don't like is St. Anger and that because of the production. Anyway, the new album is interesting and a killer one.
@andresrojas2838 жыл бұрын
xsandinistax you dont understand, a lot of people has waited 25 years for another masterpiece of metal, not a hard rock commercial trash like load and reload, or a disastrous experiment like st anger, death magnetic is a good album, but not a masterpiece like 5 first albums, and finally the new masterpiece is here ready to be enjoyed, after 25 years
@xsandinistax8 жыл бұрын
I totally understand what people waited for, but i do not think at all that Load and Reload are crap albums. Actually, now that i'm 31 years old i'm listening those albums with more pleasure than Kill 'Em All for example. I used to think like you and many others when i was younger back in the late 90's. The only thing that i wanted back then was Metallica to get back to their thrash metal roots, although i liked from the very start Load and Reload.
***** To be honest I do not care about your opinion, I explained to the other boy why people compare the new album with black or AJFA

Redsandjunkie well yeah I meant like for a song this good, it gets high ratings for most people I see, on videos and reactions, and my own opinion. so it was odd seeing it had low views. and Lords of summer doesn't really count because people aren't clicking onto the video because its pretty much the same song just a few parts. One of the cleverest songs they’ve written! When they take an idea, then develop and build it, so it’s familiar but different. I believe this album needs such song (Spit...), somehow it fills in good. Personally I am not a fan of the title song, kinda too 'simple' I'd say, however live it probably makes sense :) Still need to get to Savage and Dream No More... Regarding Revenge, this is really a great tune. Moth wears out, right, but this happens to songs you listen too often to, mostly because they are good ;) What I don't like on this album a bit is the snare in every second drum fill, like literally everywhere just snare. Anyway, thanks for reminding me to listen to DM again...

dark motherboard Metallica is such a massive, fantastic, and influential band that they've permanently left a mark on the musical world. New generations will continue to appreciate and discover their music long after, James, Lars, Kirk, Rob, and Jason are all gone. But when you have guys like Lemmy, who played music for so that he loved for so long until he died, I feel that Metallica still has quite a bit of energy left.

This is a fantastic album I've said this before that Metallica has some of the most critical fans out there. Almost as if nothing they do is ever quite good enough or live up to their 80s output. To me that's the wrong attitude. You don't have to like everything they do because lord knows I don't. I do on the other hand have a tremendous respect for them as musicians to take risks , try other things, etc. I'm just happy to be along for the ride and you should also. That said . Hardwired... To self destruct is a damn fine piece of work imo. You have the right to disagree but don't do so simply because it doesn't sound like you think a Metallica album should.

My interpretation on why they dont inlcude this great song in concerts is, because they have more awesome songs on this album under their 80s trash era. 3 songs to be precise. And this one belongs more into their Black album 90s era. So.. if in a concert they plays their 80s songs in a mayority.. this song doesnt fit and would break the flow. They had to play mores 90s songs to make this one works.

This song definitely puts Hetfield’s fire on full display. His anger is so intense; not to mention extremely focused. The music definitely has some really cool dynamics. I definitely get a bit of a Death Magnetic vibe to it. I love the changes from slow and stoney right back to machine gunfire throughout. Furthermore, the creators, the producer, and the director for this video should not be overlooked. I personally think this is truly Metallica’s creepiest video. I used to think it was a toss up between “One” and “All Nightmare Long”. One of the comments above says that the inspiration behind this song came from a girl who was a Metallica fan that was killed by a drunk driver. If it’s true, that’s a very cool way to keep her memory alive.
