This is so educational for those of us who have little knowledge in this area. Do you plan to show the complete rebuild of this F-head engine?
@metalshaperJeep5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I already have a bunch of videos on disassembly, cleaning, decking block, milling head, etc... check out previous videos if you want to catch up on what is happening with the engine rebuilds. Brian

On those fans leave the bolts in the pulley the are two holes in the pulley in the kit you should have a holder and hold the pulley and hit the wrench

Ih helps if you can leave the belt on. It will hold the pump still for you. And some times a little heat from a torch will swell the nut up enough to help. Have to be careful around the plastic fan.

Are the Exhaust and Intake both reamed to .374 or are they different sizes?
@metalshaperJeep2 жыл бұрын
exhaust .375, intake .374. Check your valves you may have to go smaller or bigger depending on the quality of your valves.

@@metalshaperJeep Thanks Brian. I really love the work you do. My daughter and I are rebuilding a 52 3A I bought with my dad 25 years ago. It was flattened by a tree in a snowstorm. So, its a ground up, including body panels. Watching you explain and demystify some of the processes has made this project possible for us. I've had some of the best times patterning and hammer forming with my kid. Thank you. It is a great way for us to keep my dad in our thoughts. We lost him last year, and he loved the old jeep.

Do you set them so you don’t have to use lead substitute in your fuel?
@metalshaperJeep5 жыл бұрын
Original seats are hardened and don't require lead. New replacement seats are also hard and do not require lead in the fuel. The originals and replacements in this engine will work with modern day fuel without any trouble. Earlier engines and especially L head engines do not have hardened seats and should be replaced when doing a rebuild.
