---------------------------------------------------------------
This is a story of Seether. Seether is a South African post-grunge band, part of alternative rock renaissance in early 2000s which generated bands such as Shinedown, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down or Staind. While many others have fallen along the way, Seether are still going strong with two sold-out shows in Czech Republic in September 2017. Metalshop TV sat down with singer Shaun Morgan and bass guitarist Dale Stewart in Prague to talk about their complicated past which suffered from lack of producers' interest and greedy record label - both holding them back from following their creative goals and visions. After all the struggle in their past, it seems like Seether are marching towards better days now...

What he said about Holding Onto String Better Left To Fray is exaclty what i think about this album. It is good album but it should be heavier. It is interesting to hear what the band think about their own work.
@illustrate303
@illustrate303 6 жыл бұрын
Bulsky exactly. Not saying they are not still solid but they still haven’t captured that raw energy they had on Karma and Disclaimer where they were a real heavy rock band. That’s my Seether. I know bands evolve but still wish they would get a little heavier again cuz Shawn has this raw scream that no one else quite sounds like
@DavidS-kz7ik

@@illustrate303 : Poison The Parish is their heaviest album to date and their new songs that just came out are heavy too. In theory, they're actually getting heavier.
@illustrate303
@illustrate303 4 жыл бұрын
David S some songs yes. But put in Karma and Effect and it’s a banger from the start w the first song. Then put in Poison and it’s just not as full and I’m mainly talking instrumental wise. Guitars are just way heavier on Karma and Poison just a little more poppy rhythm sounding guitar parts that are little more quiet and Shawn screams on like every song on Karma except the gift and maybe one other. Don’t get me wrong I think Poison is their best since Karma I really like it, wish more of it was like the heavy parts in betray and degrade but I realize that’s just my opinion

That's why the best bet with being a musician is building your own studio and having someone mix your music my father has been recording and mixing music since the 70s he can record and use reel to reel not alot of people do that anymore cut out the middle man tour yourself book shows make shirts if you do sigh to label make sure it's under your terms..

I'm not really sure how the industry works but I'm wondering why they can't produce their own stuff. I know other bands have done it and it might save Shaun and the rest of the band all the headache and stress from shitty producers.

now they produce their own albums but it demands owning studio and a lot of money, probably they cant afford it back then and dont have experience and skill for that and when you hear this big producers name wants to work with you it changes everything

What did he say about writing Remedy? Can’t tell if he said, “wish I never wrote that song ” or “I wish I could write that song again” can’t tell if he meant he hates the son cuz it got so big and was tired of playing it or if he wishes he could write another hit song like that again. I’m just curious
@aaronbusby3752
@aaronbusby3752 6 жыл бұрын
He said that he wished he could write that song again. Seether don't seem to care too much about having music that blows up, they seem to care more about making music that is true to themselves and what they enjoy. Popularity doesn't seem to come into it for them. And if it did, they would more than likely promote Rise Above Fest or actual good rock music, which are both worthy causes.

For them to be as big as they are with all the bullshit they went through is amazing but it makes sense as to why they are lowballed in terms of recognition for being good they don't get the recognition because of those issue an thek calling those people out its messed up they got treated that way but alot of other musicians need to pay attention its 2020 yall have examples of who to not work with please be smart its a shame that bands like seether get short sticked they are just really lucky to still be where they are despite all they've said but its all things that need to be said kinda like Dave Chappelle an unforgivin
