Slugs can be deflected as well; after all a Lightsaber destroys most materials in contacts so it would destroy a slug. It just can't redirect it towards anyone else. Explosives are Jedi's main weakness; though if you just throw grenades at them they can catch it with The Force and throw it back using Force Telekinesis. The Jedi's other weakness was everybody's weakness: being outnumbered.
@n00bist7234 жыл бұрын
@@WickedPrince3D Lightsabers in cannon aren't magical things that destroy everything they touch instantly, proof is how a lightsaber cutting through a door or wall is shown as relatively slowly melting a line through the material. If a slugthrower projectile has the right combination of speed, mass, and material it will still hit the jedi on the other side. Mandalorians literally used it as a "parry this, casul" to counter jedi cause if they tried to block/deflect it it would simply superheat the round making the received damage worse.

for those who are interested we just learnt that Din, from “the mandalorian”, is a child of the watch (death watch). it explains his weird and more historical/cultural values very well, and hopefully there can be some explanation for how the armorer (female leader in gold armour from early episodes) is related to the death watch as she lead their tribe

When Maul take over Mandalore, the mandalorians split up into 2 groups, the followers of Maul (death watch) and the followers of Bo-katan. If u see the clone wars, u can see that the followers of Maul wore horny helmet, same like the armorer.
@Andernol2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the children of the watch are described as religious zealots. The Death watch splintered in 19 BBY, and The Mandalorian takes place in 9 ABY, so there's a 28 year gap (at minimum) between when Din is rescued and the show. In my theory, based on the way Bo Katan describes the Children of the Watch, I can see The Armorer coping with the slow death of the Mandalorian culture by getting super into older, more extreme religious parts of the culture, radicalizing a bunch of the remaining mandalorians, and then slowly becoming this kind of prophet figure. That being said, as far as we know the armorer is only the leader of "The Tribe" which is a subgroup of The Children of the Watch.

There had been no books shows, comics or anything. Not even the Christmas Special that he had seen yet. Without any outside influences he already imagined a whole society of people with similar armor. He made his of aluminum. Highly polished with red trim and a bunch of made up symbols for clans or units or what ever in different places. Made up a whole back story for himself. It's people like that that perplexed George Lucas when they took one element of his movie and ran with it. I read about a guy and his friends who thought the guard poking Luke in the back over the sarlac was so cool they made a clan of Wickway worriors and started doing Halloween, children's hospital visits, parades and fairs.

EU was canon previous to Disney acquiring SW, thus why it was called the "expanded universe". The EU came up with Death Watch for instance, and that story continued into The Clone Wars TV series (and Rebels, The Mandalorian). While Disney changed EU to Legends, the very name "Legends" implies historical relevancy, albeit in an unauthenticated form.
@Thorfinn_Son_Of_Thors4 жыл бұрын
A lot of EU could contradict one story compared to another, but did what it's called. Expand, you could see some stories as "Legends" within the universe. Like the person above me said though, they got the Vizla's and Death Watch from the EU. Technically plenty of it could be canon. Sharing is what KZbin is most impressed by, but the likes and of course subscribing are great too. Awesome to see the love in the comments so far, if these videos work then I would love to do these for all sorts of topics.

I know...the start of the first season was the perfect time to show a variety of mandalorian races since they were all hiding in the sewer to gather strength and figure out what to do. They could have shown them sitting in the hall as Din walked by as Weequay, Utapau, Clawdite, Dressellians or it would be really cool to see a Devaronian and the helmet they would wear. The potential still exist for season 3 since Din let Gro Gue go and now has nothing. He will obviously take up the mantle of fighting to free mandalore with Bow and her troop. It makes since they would gather Din's old clan from season one and any other group they can find scattered to go fight as one. I feel that is what season three will be quest after quest to find and convince a group of mandalorians and anyone who owes a mandalorian a favor/life debt to fight to free the home planet.

They're a blank space given the vague in-continuity lore of "vaguely cool" so everyone who played KOTOR projects the experience they liked onto them. That's an interesting occurrence, but it makes them the least interesting character ever because there's literally no character.

Judging them based on our morality is kinda pointless. We can say our own ancestors were monsters for human sacrifice, slavery, etc. Morals change and to the mandalorians war was not only the right thing but a good thing. Survival of the fittest and evolution in fast forwards as the weakest would be culled. As someone else mentioned its very Spartan like.

Oh you mean you built a pretty little straw man that would easily be torched if it wasn't all wet from the get go. Finally to @Ganondorf you can claim the Mandalorians of that particular war were monsters. But there were generations that were good and honorable and even in bad times individuals that were good and honorable. No group is totally to blame for its entire history and no individual bears the stain of its brothers acts.

More like Vikings. Spartans didn't believe they literally had to die in battle to go to a better afterlife. Viking belief in honor and fighting is very much like the Mandalorians. Also, the Norse culture was known for being open minded and tolerant of other cultures similar to how the Mandalorians are very accepting towards outsiders joining their ranks. Spartans were not like this. Another similarity that could be drawn is infighting in Mando culture being quite similar to the Norse clans. In the newer Mandalorian history, the conflict between peace vs militarism is similar to the Viking clans/age compared to the many Norsemen who were not Vikings in the slightest. And of course you have the pillaging and raiding. Something Mandalorians are well known for as is their reputation as mercenaries.

THE ANGRY MARINE I’m hopeful that once Disney gets its act together that they will make stories set in 100+ ABY. This can be where tha Mandalorians truly shine. *Best Era:* Prequels *Golden Era:* Originals *Worst Era:* Sequels *Renaissance Era:* Post-Sequels But my hope is that Disney learns from their mistakes, errors, and fuck-ups and creates an actually cohesive storyline (using no movies whatsoever) set in the Renaissance Era. That is where I hope we get the best of the best for Mandalorian stories (even without Boba as the Mandalorian stories aren’t just Boba).
@violentscorl6975 жыл бұрын
THE ANGRY MARINE It is disgusting to see that Satine and her pacifists hippies have. Made it into canon by replacing Mereel and the True Mandalorians. I hope somewhere down the line that mistake gets reset- because even if Mandalore as a planet would’ve been destroyed by the Jedi, this would certainly not ave broken Mandalorian spirit. „We are more than just an army“, „we need no species or bloodline“- those aren’t just empty words! Mandalorians would’ve just resettled and gathered power for a revenge strike against the Jedi and Republic.
@freddykrueger80765 жыл бұрын
ViolentScorl Yeah, which is why I am hoping that even though the PT, OT, and ST have been about Jedi vs Sith, Republic vs Palpatine that the Madnalorians will become the actual threat once both the First Order and New Republic fuse. Imagine it Instead of the Yuuzhan Vong bullshit... By 40ABY - The First Order and New Republic fuse. The ‘New’ Jedi Order and Sith fuse. We have Grey Jedi working as religious soldiers for the FIRST REPUBLIC. The First Republic with the help of the Grey successfully conquers much of the Galaxy by 80ABY. By 130ABY there has been more than 50 years of peace, with more than 90 years of the First Republic being in existence. The First Republic however, (pardon the pun), is quite Grey in its idealisms. Because it is the Empire + Republic, it has the best and worst of both. So it could be seen as a Democractic Autocracy (which IS possible). Since the FR inception in 40ABY, the Mandalorians have been holding protest (similar to Death Watch). By 50ABY Mandalore is in a full blown Civil War, however like always with teh Republic, the FR doesn’t interfere. In less than a year... Mandalore falls to the New Crusaders. These Crusaders slowly absorb the pirates and soldiers begotten and forgotten of time long past. By 70ABY the Mandalorians have begun a war with the Hutts. By 130ABY the Mandalorians finally win the war with the Hutts. The FR meanwhile... is oblivious as they have been keeping their citizens in the dark about the New Crusaders for more than 50 years. Also by 130ABY their are Revolutionary factions popping up to overthrow the First Republic. So you have by 130ABY... The First Republic (the main government) The Revolutionaries (People overthrowing the government for a true Democracy) The Neo Imperials (People overthrowing the government for a return to a twisted version of the Empire) The New Crusaders (Mandalorians in full strength). Whoch means *The First Republic is dealing with a war on 3 fronts* 2 Civil Wars and 1 Galactic War Everyone gets a chance at being great Fam fiction at its worst, I know
@violentscorl6975 жыл бұрын
Freddy Krueger You know, this sounds like it might be interesting! Not quite what I envision (I’d prefer a long, drawn-out series showcasing Mandalorian history of the time before the BS of the clone wars show and Disney’s destruction of the EU, where different seasons showcase the conflicts of the past), but as long as it holds True Mandalorians I’m all for it!
@freddykrueger80765 жыл бұрын
ViolentScorl Oh yeah, I would love for them to nuke what they did to the Mandalorians and make them great again tbh I’m just trying to think of it like “If we can’t change what Disney has already done, and retcons aren’t allowed, then what should we hope for if they weren’t to fuck it up again”. I haven’t personally seen the Mandalorian (the TV Show), yet so I am hopeful. I’ve heard good things which brings light to what *could* be
