This is just another way of saying you pay for a day pass ONCE and can use it all day - which is how the day pass always worked; and another way of saying you pay for the weekly or monthly pass once and can use it all week or all month, no matter how much you ride. Again, nothing new.

But before, you had to choose to buy a daily pass _before_ you ride, and if you didn't ride enough to make it worth the value, too bad. Farecapping means you don't have to decide in advance; your card will just stop charging you once you hit the daily value.
