Hard agree with the 100% L and R pan. Bass tone and tuning is also really important. I can't tune my bass an octave below my 8 string guitar, so I play the same note instead. I can tune it an octave below my 7 string though, which means i need to drastically alter my tones to make everything fit.

I do the Gary Holt “thing”. I’ll plug a big muff into a big muff into a big muff and see if it works. Sooooooo … I try anything and everything. 👍
