@Zang Purisima I will do my best to post videos on those drugs in the near future! Thank you for the suggestion. Each of those drugs come from very different classifications. Prednisone is a corticosteroid, which causes immunosuppression and anti-inflammation, and puts the client at a greater risk for infection. Gabapentin is used for neuropathic pain and seizures. And Azithromycin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used for a wide range of infections. Monitor for diarrhea as a side effect, among many others.

This has been prescriped to me a week ago. On 2 checks my heartrate was 160 BPM in rest wich my old GP never noticed.. neither did i seems like i had a high heart rate for many years but my new GP is so much better. This medication is doing wonders to me, when i was 19 i got a weird (panic?) Attack from weed that changed my life and mental state to this day i'm 28 now. have had alot of symptoms like derealization, dizziness, anxiety, brain fog, sound and light sensitivty, depression ect. This medication is reducing it all atleast 30 to 40 % finally since a couple of days i wake up much more rested and have more energy. But i can't understand how this is possible? I can't find much information online of why this medication is reducing most of my symptoms and even "cured" my sound sensitivity. From what i understand this type of medication stops some hormone's like adrenaline and helps relax my nervous system. I really wonder if my problems are related to that.

Beta Blockers like Metoprolol work by blocking Epinephrine (also known as Adrenaline), which helps to decrease blood pressure and heart rate. Some of the symptoms of anxiety include rapid heart rate, dizziness, sweating, etc. This is why Metoprolol can be used for managing some of the symptoms of anxiety, like you mentioned. However, keep in mind that Metoprolol does not treat any psychological causes of anxiety. Again, it is used more for short-term, symptomatic treatment of anxiety. I always recommend recording your experiences with any new medication, and sharing them with your GP at your next appointment. They may be able to offer some more information and clarify any concerns you may have! Thank you for sharing your experiences, and I hope that the medication continues to work well for you 😀

Hi my mother is 76 with acute hypertension. She has been prescribed Metoprolol for tremors and severe shakes. Her bp and hr is normal for the first time in 20 years. She is on 25mg morn/night but I am worried as she has an autoimmune arthritis which attacks the lungs and has been on mychophenalate for 3months. Other diagnosis include asthma, lung fibrosis and bronchiectasis. Is metoprolol safe for her? Please help 🙏

Hi Ellen, I strongly recommend bringing this up to your mother's healthcare provider, especially because of her complicated situation. I hope everything works out for you and your mother! Ryan

I used to take this and it turned me into a vegetable. Thankfully I am on another medicine with few side effects and more effective for BP.

I'm sorry that you had a really bad experience with this drug. It can be very beneficial for some people, but sadly, the side effects can also be very negative for others. Thank you for sharing your experience with it, I hope you're doing better these days!

My HR is 50 to 55 after taking medicine.. should I worry about it??
@NurseRyan2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I would definitely recommend speaking to your primary healthcare provider or pharmacist about this. They might recommend that you hold off on taking the medication if your HR is below a certain level, like 50 or 60. They can also discuss whether a switch in dose or in medication could be beneficial for you. Again, always speak to a professional before changing anything with your medication routine!
